You know I've been on edge about it and was wondering, okay I'll play it for a few weeks and never bother with it again. Do you see yourself doing the same? Is it actually worth it?
Because once I reached Pro in Wii Sports I rarely even play it.

i'm in the same dilemma =/. but it looks so fun and beneficial to the body haha

^ Not that I can find, all Wii Shop titles aren't revealed unless the publisher decides to announce a press release for that specific title or unless the info is leaked. Otherwise, you'll have to wait for Monday morning every week to find out. But you can check to see if ESRB has even rated that game you're waiting for. Usually when ESRB updates it means the game's coming soon for release.

The Wii Shop releases are different regionally, and this thread is based on the North American releases, of course, but some Japanese releases are mentioned. If in case the game you're looking for is released on a foreign system, you can try changing your Country/Language in the Wii option settings.

Here are the lists of Virtual Console releases so far:
Japan
North America
Europe
Australia
South Korea

------------------
WiiWare™ (What is WiiWare?)

Dr. Mario® Online Rx (Nintendo, 1-4 players, Rated E for Everyone, 1,000 Wii Points): The doctor is in! Mario™ takes a break from his adventuring ways and once again dons his stethoscope for a new generation of germ-battling mayhem. In addition to the classic mode of using vitamins to exterminate viruses, you’ll find two battle modes and an online multiplayer mode where you can hone your skills against players from around the world. Feel like challenging a friend who doesn’t have Dr. Mario Online Rx? Then the WiiWare-exclusive Friend Battle Demo is just what the doctor ordered. Or maybe you’d like some help taking on those nasty viruses? Try out Virus Buster, where four players can simultaneously move capsules simply by pointing at them with a Wii Remote™ controller. Any way you look at it, Dr. Mario Online Rx is a prescription for fun that everyone can enjoy.
Wiki: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Dr._Mario_Online_Rx

Family Table Tennis (Aksys Games, 1-2 players, Rated E for Everyone, 500 Wii Points): It’s time for some good old family fun, and what’s more fun than table tennis? Just like a real family, choose your character from a cast of four, which includes Daddy, Mommy, Sarah and Billy. There are four table tennis-tastic stages where it doesn’t matter if you’re an indoors or outdoors table-tennis player. Pick your poison from a gymnasium, a forest park, a beach or even an amusement park. Choose from Single or Versus mode, or select a minigame to play. In Versus mode, you and a friend can play against each other to see who is the better table-tennis player. And if Single and Versus modes aren’t enough, select between three minigames, which include Target Table Tennis, Thrilling Table Tennis and Matching Table Tennis. The appealing cell-shaded graphics and endearing music, on top of the super-fun game play, will have you and your family playing from morning till night. Get your paddles ready.
Wiki: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Family_Table_Tennis

Virtual Console™ (What is Virtual Console?)

City Connection™ (NES®, 1-2 players, Rated E for Everyone - Comic Mischief, Tobacco Reference, 500 Wii Points): Based on the arcade hit, a young man born in California sets out to tour famous sites and cities around the world. As he drives the highways surrounding these locations, the road is painted white as proof of his visit. Only once all sections of the road have been painted will he move on to the next location in his world tour. Not surprisingly, the local police will chase the driver and do their best to stop him from completing his goal. In addition, cats roam the highways and spikes lie in wait for unsuspecting drivers. To combat these dangers, the driver’s customized car can jump, fire cans of oil and collect balloons to warp to a new stage. It’s the ultimate road trip.
Wiki: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/City_Connection

Metal Slug (NEOGEO, 1-2 players, Rated T for Teen - Blood, Violence, 900 Wii Points): Released in 1996 by SNK, Metal Slug is a side-scrolling military-action game. Players control Marco and Tarma, both members of the special-ops force Team Peregrine Falcon (commonly known as Team PF), and battle their way through stage after stage of intense action. The goal is to try to overthrow General Morden and win back the stolen weapon, the Metal Slug. Players must blast through waves of enemies and machines (while also jumping over any obstacles in the way) to advance through the stages. It’s not as hopeless as it might sound, though—weapons such as heavy machine guns, shotguns, rocket launchers and flamethrowers, as well as the Metal Slug itself (which appears frequently in the game), will make the battle easier. Take on General Morden with a friend to lighten your load and ramp up the excitement even more.
Wiki: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Metal_Slug

*Due to my Wii being out of memory, I'm not able to download any new WiiWare or VC games this week.
But if I were to pick one for this week, it would be Dr. Mario Online Rx which is a classic puzzle built on the same engine as Tetris: Grand Master. Also, the neat thing about it is you can send demos to your Wii friends to try and play 2P online. Sort of invitation-only thing.

So the clues of that full moon on last month's issue of Nintendo Power was actually leading to the new Castlevania.
Konami finally announced Castlevania: Order of Ecclesia for Nintendo DS which will due out Fall 2008.

Press:
Konami Digital Entertainment, Inc. today announced Castlevania: Order of Ecclesia exclusively for Nintendo DS™. Introducing the all-new Glyph attack system, players will be able to use special attack combinations as they attempt to defeat Dracula and his horde. Also introduced to the series are new outdoor locales ranging from forests to the ocean, giving players the chance to explore outside of Dracula’s Castle. Developed by legendary Castlevania producer Koji “Iga” Igarashi, Castlevania: Order of Ecclesia is poised to set a new standard for side scrolling action on DS™.

"We have always felt that the Castlevania franchise has been an excellent fit on Nintendo DS, and based on the popularity of the DS classics, Dawn of Sorrow and Portrait of Ruin, our fans agree,” said Anthony Crouts, Vice President of Marketing for Konami Digital Entertainment, Inc. “We fully expect Order of Ecclesia to ignite the fan base once again as it combines the classic Castlevania gameplay with an all-new combat system and outdoor environments."

In Order of Ecclesia players take the role of a member of the Ecclesia, an organization that has sworn to defeat the evil forces of Dracula. By using the new Glyph attack system, players can unleash more than 100 different combinations to battle Dracula’s minions throughout 20 explorable areas. Utilizing the Nintendo Wi-Fi Connection™, players can choose to compete head-to-head, or trade items and equipment they have found while exploring the environments. Multiple endings that can be unlocked depending on how the player completes the game adds even more replay value to the game with plenty of addictive exploration, combat and items to discover.

Developed by Konami, Castlevania: Order of Ecclesia is planned for release on Nintendo DS™ in Fall 2008. For more information on the games, please visit: www.konami.com.

Mega Man Zero: Official Complete Works (art book) hits stores today. UDON, the guys who have worked on many a project related to and for Capcom, including the art for the upcoming Super Street Fighter II Turbo HD Remix, are releasing an English version of the same book in America, which will be available in stores on May 28th. Capcom has begun taking orders for it, as well as Amazon, and you may be able to order it through outlets such as Barnes & Noble, Waldenbooks, or even your local comic book store (be sure to check first, just to be sure).

Attenton! For those who are looking forward to something mature on Wii, look no further. SEGA has teamed up with Clover Studios (the guys who made No More Heroes) who are now Platinum Games. There was a leaked video of their upcoming M-rated action title on YouTube, and I was able to catch a glimpse of it before they took it down the next couple of minutes. Now it has been officially released in full quality.

I present to you.. MadWorld.

Can anyone please help me on Resident Evil Umbrella Chronicles?

My bf and I are co-playing this game and we had a hard time to get through the explosion part right before the boss (Dr. Marcus). When the action command pops up, do I just tap the button once or tap the button repeatedly (or keep shaking the Wii remote)? Also, I'm assuming Rebecca is to follow the command on the left hand side while Billy on right hand side right?

We tried zillion times and ended up dead everytime Xp

Thanks in advance!

I tried my gf's new Wii Fit board out over the weekend. Seems kind of gimmicky to me.

I can't really imagine that it'd help me workout all that much more... it's like I tried the yoga poses, I tried the exercises but in the end I just ended up playing the mini-games. The board itself is surprisingly accurate and responsive but I'm not sure it always works like it's supposed to... definitely takes getting used to in order to control it like you'd want.

The games are OK, but nothing has the pick-up-and-play feel of Wii Sports.

Basically, if you didn't have motivation to exercise before, I can't really see Wii Fit helping you a whole lot. If nothing else, it's not so much more fun than actually doing exercise in the first place.

One of REUC's quirks. Those quick time event commands (QTE) usually consist of constant tapping or wii remote waggling. As for which side controls which, P1 - left, P2 - right. Either side can play as either Becca or Billy. Hope it helps and that Dr. Marcus will... whew it's a tough battle if you haven't upgraded. fury.gif

It really depends on what you're looking for in a game. Action/adventure, something that makes use of the wii remote, something to pick up and play or just mindless button mashing with lag...erm Smash Bros. sweatingbullets.gif
Mario Galaxy in my opinion is the best title on the Wii.

Tried several locations today, but the Wii Fit was sold out in all the stores I dropped by. I knew I should have pre-ordered it, but I wanted to hear some feedback on it before making a purchase.
Kinda bummed out. sad.gif

WiiWare™ (What is WiiWare?)

My Pokémon™ Ranch (Nintendo, 1 player, Rated E for Everyone—Comic Mischief, 1,000 Wii Points): The Pokémon phenomenon debuts on WiiWare with My Pokémon Ranch, a game that lets you watch as Pokémon and Miis interact with each other for the first time. Enjoy the relaxing ranch life by viewing your ranch and its Pokémon, taking pictures and sending those pictures to your friends via the Wii Message Board. The more Pokémon and Miis you bring to your ranch, the more fun it becomes. My Pokémon Ranch can be linked with the Nintendo DS™ Pokémon® Diamond and Pokémon® Pearl Game Cards to deposit the Pokémon you’ve caught in these games in your ranch. You can deposit a maximum of 1,000 Pokémon from up to eight different game cards. Make your ranch livelier by playing with your friends and family.

Protothea (UbiSoft, 1 player, Rated E for Everyone-Fantasy Violence, 1,000 Wii Points): Protothea is a top-down scrolling shooter game with free movement that puts players in complete control of a last-generation spaceship. The mission is to destroy the asteroid called Maqno 01 and finish with the plans of The Core. UbiSoft's Protothea introduces new concepts to a beloved, classic game style while mixing genres and utilizing the full capabilities of the Wii console, from graphics to controls. Players of all ages and experience levels will enjoy taking command of their ship, blasting through four different worlds in 10 challenging missions. Use your weapons arsenal and the special bonus items to help you accomplish your mission, and don't forget to slow down time and take an edge over the enemy.

Toki Tori (Two Tribes, 1-2 players, Rated E for Everyone, 1,000 Wii Points): Toki Tori is his name, and collecting eggs is his game. In this puzzle/platform game, players use a variety of items such as the Telewarp, InstantRock and Slug Sucker. Clever use and combination of these items are needed to solve all the game's levels, of which there are more than 70. Levels range from easy to brain-teasingly hard, resulting in dozens of hours of puzzle play time. Toki Tori makes the most of what Wii has to offer. It uses the Wii Remote for a unique control scheme, which offers players a new and more relaxing play style. A second player can help you out by drawing hints while you are playing. The game even uses the Wii Message Board in a unique way.

Advertising agency Leo Burnett sent word today that they won the Grand Effie at the 40th Annual Effie Awards for their "Wii Would Like to Play" marketing campaign. The campaign won for being the “most effective” marketing effort.

"The ‘Wii Would Like to Play’ campaign chose not to embrace an obvious strategy, namely fawning over the prized teenage male gamer. Instead, Wii targeted his mom, dad and grandmother. While the competition catered to a narrow audience, Wii invited everyone to play. As a result, the Wii has been sold out nationwide since the launch and ignited a cultural phenomenon in how people experience video games," Effie organizers said.

AudiOdyssey is an experimental computer game designed to be accessible to both the visually impaired community and mainstream gamers. The user stars as Vinyl Scorcher, an up-and-coming DJ, on his quest to get club patrons dancing. Swinging the Nintendo Wii controller to the beat, Vinyl lays down the various component tracks of a song, and keeps the party jumping. If he does an especially good job, he can even freestyle! But beware - if dancers get too rowdy, they’re likely to bump into the turntables, messing up Vinyl’s tracks. Think you have what it takes?

AudiOdyssey was developed with four research goals:
* The visually-impaired and the sighted can enjoy the same level and quality of gameplay
* Navigate game’s menus with ease and efficiency approaching that of conventional UIs
* Create a fun and natural control scheme using the Wiimote
* An engaging game that relies more on high quality audio than visuals

The first details on Call of Duty 5: World at War have been revealed by a UK magazine called gamesTM. The issue which was published today claims that the game is going to be grittier, have scarier enemies with new tactics and contain co-op modes.

"There will be co-op for the first time in a Call of Duty. Also there will be vehicles and squad-based elements to the multiplayer. Formats: PC, PS3, 360 and Wii. The Wii version is being worked on by a separate team within Treyarch. (The mag) reckons it’ll be a much closer comparison between the next-gen and Wii versions than any other Wii game on the market."

"Jeez, they have the CoD4 engine running on the Wii apparently. They are using (the CoD4 engine) for all the next-gen ones too. The Wii Zapper will be supported."

I managed to pick up Wii Fit yesterday afternoon and it sure does make you build up a sweat or two. The balance board works just fine and for anyone thinking of making a purchase, be sure and get yourself a pair of gloves while you're at it. Those push up exercises left impressions of the balance board on the palms of my hands. wink.gif
