i've been reading the new civic forums.. this seems to be a problem with most people.. you have 2 options.. one easy and the other takes some work..

1) you can lower your bass on the head unit. or just not listen to music too loud
2) take apart the rear shelving and make sure all the clips are on right.. after that, just put it back together and it should be fine.. people seem to do this...

people say the rattle is because the clips in the back arent put on right, so just check those..

hope this helps. and which one did you get? coupe? sedan? what trim?

first of all for #1 i play the music at 7 outta 10 for bass settings and volume 1. at volume 1 i can still hear it very clearly!! it

for #2 i tried to take the rear shelving apart but is too difficult. i need pictures and step by steps to do so. i tried it once and almost broken some plastic thing off.

annoying rattle is irritating me!

since you have the new 8th gen civic, try looking at forums designated for the 8th gen. civic's such as 8thgencivic.com or 8thcivic.com

most rattles come from the license plate and/or frame rattling against the trunk when the sub hits.

if you really want to find out wtf is going on.. i say turn on your stereo, step out of the car and inspect yourself.

u guys treat me as if im a noob =) lol anyways yes i inspected it myself. its most definitely not the license plate frame. i conclude that this problem is manufactured related as i just spoke to my honda service advisor and it has been TSB'ed just a couple days ago. thx guys

actually i do know. ive done my research for quite some time now (1 1/2 months) and 99% sure that it is manufactured related. this is honda's first attempt at putting a sub in a civic. do remember that. bound to get some errors/defects/problems. =) good day
