hi guys, i currently drive a 2005 honda civic lx.
i have a few questions.

-first question is that on the front passenger side door, it seems to make these ratting sounds whenever i go over bumps/bumpy roads. anyone experienced with the same problem? what do i do? should i go to the dealer and ask or is this a very easy thing to fix or is it not fixable??

-second question is that if i tinted my windows [all four doors + rear/back window] how much do you guys think it will cost?

-third question is i have hubcap tires. i was wondering if i changed my tires to wheels/rim/whatever you call it, which kind do u guys suggest?

thats all the q's for now. thanks.

-rattling sounds usually come from something loose such as clips that arent on properly.. im not sure if a dealer will fix it.. most of the times, they're just lazy and will tell you its normal..

-tinting varies on the shop and the material they use.. shouldnt be that much.. im gonna guess around $135? but before you go tint, make sure it istn ILLEGAL to tint the fronts.. alot of states are ILLEGAL.. go here for your state and what their law is about tinting..

http://www.tintdude.com/laws.html

- just use stock.. theres no need to change the wheels on your car unless you plan on racing or just feel like showing bling.. i find replacing rims useless and waste of money.. especially on a civic.. so.. just use what the car came with.. it should be just fine..

1st guestion - something could be loose, door not close tight, or something broken.

2nd question - when i asked how much tinting would cost me(my area), it would've cost me $180 after tax and sh!t

3rd question - please don't buy cheap auto zone spinners for it or a cannon muffler, wing, etc. just buy a set of 15-16in rims. if you want to have some fun times with your buddies or so.

wohoo. a fellow LuXury owner.

for the 3rd question, if your serious about getting new rims, like serious serious, for whatever reason it may be, get the stock VP or I think the EX rims. those arent ghetto hubs, nor are they expensive as hell. I think they just look perfect. smile.gif

what mods do you have so far?

It's still under warranty, so it should be free. Milk it while you can.

-first question- i have same prob on my integra, im prolly gonna try to pin point it and ghetto rig my own device with cardboard and glue to make it stop rattling. welcome to the realm of old hondas haha... soon you'll have rattles poping up everywhere.

-second question - depends what kinda tint you get. my friend got a hook up and tinted all around on his celica with a limo tint for i think 120. pretty good deal

-third question - depends if you are on a budget or whatnot. if you just want purely looks i would look into a 16 inch rim. if you want more performance then go with 15. 15 will still give you better looks too, but if you get any rims id suggest you lower the car becuase from what ive seen, hondas with rims and at stock height look a bit out of place. the rims im looking at right now for my integra are from rota. im also looking at the falken hanabi and konig helium. but then again im looking for rims that are super lightweight and look decently good (not super showy). make sure you get the 4x100 (i think). this tells you that it is 4 lug and how far apart each of the holes are. i think your car is 4x100 you might wanna confirm with someone else.

hope i helped! if you need more help just pm me

warrenty usually covers everything.. except for anything thats due to normal wear.. such as brakes, or engine oil, things like that.. other then that.. warrenty basically covers any manufature defects..such as door not closing, this or that not working..

Honda warrenty for the new civic is 3 year or 36,000 mile warrenty which ever comes first.

If you want to upgrade the look of your car without doing anything ricey or having a fixed up look, then I suggest buying rims from another Civic. Try looking for Civic Si rims, they seem to look nice or even Civic EX rims. Acura Integra rims fit too, but they have the Acura symbol on it so it might look a bit out of place.

You don't need VTEC on a Honda to go fast, although its a nice feature. I think itz_jOw3 is just mocking you. laugh.gif

Those are halogen bulbs with a blue filter over them.

I'd stay away from those if I were you. If you just want your headlights to appear to be white, then use Sylvania SilverStars. They also have a blue filter over the bulb, but they're not as bad as everything else you see on the market. But in my opinion, any halogen bulb with a blue filter over it is no better than a well made, standard halogen bulb.

An HID retrofit kit comes with most of the parts you will need to make your headlamps true HID but the problem with many HID conversions is that the housings used for the bulbs are made for halogen bulbs and when an HID bulb is installed, there is no cutoff in the beam which causes blinding of other drivers on the road.
