Sports stars who lost their skill

1. Nick Van Exel - I remember when he was the core of the Lakers before Shaq arrived. Even an all star. He was called Nick the Quick and did boxing punches while running to ther other side when he made a three. After that shove with the referee that suspended him for a whole mess of games, Lakers traded him to Denver. Didn't help them become a contender in the playoffs.
2. Anfernee Hardaway - Man he was good. Back in the day, every kid wanted to be like Penny. One of the most valuable players in the Beckett. I remember his commericals with the little Penny robot. After going to the Suns, he began to slowly decline in popularity and skill. Traded for Francis then waived by his own team who made him an All Star
3. Vin Baker - He averaged nearly 20 points a game but what happened? I don't even know.
4. Glenn Robinson - Big Dawg. Did well with the Bucks. Then many years later I remember he was on the Sixers once. Waived. Nothing more.
5. Glenn Rice - Three point sharpshooter. Was with the lakers and considered the big three with Shaq and Kobe. Won a champion in 99-00. Waived.
6. Shawn Kemp - Great dunker, and I owned a pair of his shoes once. Went to the finals with the Sonics along with his teammate Gary Payton. Lost to the Bulls. Almost went to the finals with the Blazers in 99-00 and never heard of him since.
7. Nomar Garciaparra - Read in the LA Times Sports section couple of years ago that he had a contract extension of $30 million with the Red Socks, but got injured and missed a whole lot of games. Doesn't hit like he used to.
8. Jamal Mashburn - Where is this guy? Still injured? I still have the memory of him scoring over 20 or more points back in the day
List yours.

michael dickerson.. awesome shootingguard for grizzlies back when they were at vancouver. he got injured and i havent heard of him ever since..
he had a really bad injury..so bad that he had to retire only 2 or 3 seasons into the nba i think..what's even worse was his old arizona wildcat teammate miles simon..i don't even remember seeing him play in the nba but he was drafted by orlando..last i heard he was playing overseas..that guy had a lot of talent on the court..god shamgodd was good too..i wonder what happened to him.
someone mentioned antonio mcdyess earlier...but after missing a lot of seasons with injuries, he's bounced back and is a big part of the detroit pistons success

at least he was smart and signed a contract with the spurs last season and won a championship
one player i'm gonna add: sammy sosa. 2 years ago, he was doing great with the cubs. now, he's only gotten offered $150,000 and is thinking about retiring.

Grant Hill never lost his skill, he was only injury prone. He still has the soft touch on shooting the ball and can go for thirty any night if his injury isn't bothering him physically or mentally.
