I'm currently using WinXp, i need to install Win 2000 Server for my project. So, i was wondering how can i install it, so that i was able to access to 2 different OS.

Do i need to create a new partition before installing the Win 2000 Server or i can just share the same drive with the Win Xp. If i need to create a partition how can i do so? because my current just have 1 drive. Is it possible not to lose any data on my PC while doing the partition?

Hope someone can help me with this smile.gif

Thank You in advance! cool.gif

thats no wories, best bet is to defrag ur hardrive and then use the xp install cd to create a partition on the same drive that way when u install server 2000 u can chose the OS u want to log on.

with the partition just make sure that u dont use all available free space or else xp wont have room to do its thing. U are able to delete the partition after, and ur pc shud be back to the b4 condition of installing server 2000

Perhaps Virtual PC would be a safer alternative for you...

ok, i have a new problem now, i already install both OS in different partition. I've install the all drivers. the problem now is that, my Window 2000 Server run at 16 bit - color, and i can't adjust the screen resolution at all. but for my WinXp it runs perfectly. So, anyone knows how to solve the problem?

Aha, another satisfied windows customer. laugh.gif

Windows registry has no prior smarts about other applications on your hard drive. Every driver and every application that you want to use on Win2000 will have to be reloaded in Win 2000 again.

Why? It's because the software require application hooks in Windows software in order to run. huh.gif
