okai, this mite help, make sure u hav a firewall enabled this helps to minimise hacker attacks from the internet.

If u hav ur network alreadi setup, basicalli right-click on the wireless connection icon in system tray

click on View Available Wireless Networks

under heading preferred networks: select ur network and click remove

click add

then type a name for ur network

Make sure to clear the checkmark from the checkbox next to 'The key is provided for me automatically' (if it is checked).
Under Wireless network key click to select the type of authentication being used (Open, Shared, WPA, or WPA-PSK). WEP encryption can be easily cracked, I recommend to use WPA-PSK network authentication with TKIP data encryption provides more secure wireless network.

Under Wireless network key to the right of Data encryption click to select the type of encryption being used
To the right of 'Network key:', type your network key (Basically, it's just a password to access the network - at least 8 characters must be typed and it MUST match the network key in your router).
To the right of 'Confirm network key:', type your network key again.
Click the 'OK' button (The added network will now appear in the box under 'Preferred networks').

after just click ok in the bottom tab (do not touch any other tab or what u hav done will all reset and u will need to do it again.)

then ur network password will be set

if u get a red x on the wireless icon in taskbar u hav stuffed ut, u can try using the repair wireless function

if that doesnt work u hav probably entered the wrong password, (it must match the network key in the router)
