512mb 7900 GTX
256mb 7900 GT ( WOW ALOT SMALLER THAN the 7800 GTX)
So nvidia has finally went 90nm silicon.. hence with this shrinkage in the silicon, it increases the number of chips per wafer and should decrease the cost to produce each chip. The size reduction also allows the chip to use less power, which means less heat. Yet this is a bit late with ATI already going 90nm since october of last year. With the move with 90nm.. the G71 has gain alot of performance power from this and a leap in performance from its predecessors.
Altho from looking at toms hardware and anadtech, the X1900 XTX and 7900 GTX are about the same in performance wise.. each card offer its own unique features, but the 7900 GTX does have a edge over the X1900 in most game.. with maybe a siginficant difference of 5-10 FPS in each game.
7900 GTX:
8 vertex pipes
24 pixel pipes
16 ROPs
650 MHz core clock
1600 MHz memory data rate
512MB of memory on a 256bit bus
$500 +
7900 GT:
8 vertex pipes
24 pixel pipes
16 ROPs
450 MHz core clock
1320 MHz memory data rate
256MB of memory on a 256bit bus
$300 - $350
With this .. geforce 7900 is the cheapest solution for highend now.

im a bit disappointed with the specs of the Geforce 7900. as you can see the 7900 GTX specs are really close to the X1900 XTX, with a bit of higher memory clock than the x1900xtx.
At Full load the Geforce 7900 GTX pulls a amazing 271watts compare to X1900 XTX 297 watts. At idle power you'll see the same thing that the 7900 GTX uses less power. So since the Geforce 7900 GTX and GT uses less power than the X1900 XTX and XT, it makes it another reason to get the 7900 GTX/GT.
Now anandtech says that the 7800 GTX and 7900 GT are slightly the same .. whcih is true, both of these cards come in close with only a 1-2 fps differences in most video games. With all this said.. the competition is set and it seems like anandtech and tomshardware are saying ATI and Nvidia are at a stand still right now but it seems a bit too obvious that the 7900 GTX is crown the king now.
