actually most korean mobiles are about 1.3 to 2.0 megapixel so they're about the same as the ones here- i think sony ericsson phones make great camera phones. i just got a w900i and i rearely use my 5.0mp digital camera anymore even though the w900i is 2.0mp. but they do have some crazy phones with 5.0 and even 8.0mp, but they're really ugly imo.

yeah standard korean phones are 2.5mp max, unless u pay the extra buck for 3.5mp and up. anycall just released the worlds first 10mp camera phone. lolz, but itll run u 700 usd. but if u live near LA you can always go there and get a korean phone still 300 at least and only verizon service.

if u can find some asian store that knows how to mod moblies in australia, u might be able to get it running on optus or telstra's cdma network. i haven't seen any1 in perth who can mod mobile phones.

Does anybody know a specific store in Korea Town (LA) that sells Korean phones (then modifies them and hooks it up w/ Verizon)? I'm curious to know the price range too, for let's say, 3.0 MP camphones.

The Chocolate phone has been the big deal here (Korea)... it had a nice touch screen and well, very simplistic and plain.

innostream is a korean cell phone manufacture, that means they do release models outside of korea for the gsm market. Many korean cell phone companies do make GSM models for the global market. IE samsung, pantech and lg.

i'm not 100% sure, but after asking around cdma doesn't use a sim card and is like software loaded on the mobile or something, this is done by the network eg. telstra, optus. we do have cdma in australia, but its not popular and i don't think theres any modders in australia. no market here.

no offense but it seems to me like you're being shallow because i personally don't understand people who buy expensive foreign phones that don't work completely where they live just because "it looks cool." like even if you got the latest phone from korea, you wouldn't be able to get the satellite tv reception [dmb], or download anything let alone go on-line. the best you could hope for is good text messaging and of course, making phone calls is a given. try to look for something stylish in australia or at least use a gsm phone from hong kong instead of looking at korean phones which are very exclusive.
