hey, just wondering if anyone out there knows anything about 'mini blogs'

i visited some random msn spaces and there's this one where the person has hidden the blog window and instead provided links on the sidebar to their blogs which opens in the same window

i've tried doing that by adding the permlink to a 'blog list' and a 'customs list' but when i remove my blog, the links don't work or a new window pops up which shows basically the same thing.

anybody know what i have to do..?
i'm guessing i need a plugin? or an extra code to the url thingy... like how you add "&powertoy=musicvideo" for music... but i don't know the code
