Can't think of it at the moment. But when I first read 'male tennis player that won some big tournament...he ran to his family/friends and started hugging him' the first thing that came to my mind was Nadal at *cough* Wimbledon last year.
Only a couple of hours to go!

1) Will Andy Murray live up to the hype?
2) Will Rafa finally get to a hardcourt GS final?
3) Will Djoko reclaim the title?
4) Will Roger bring back two weeks of beautiful tennis? (I was browsing on youtube and came across a comment that said Roger's two weeks at AO showcases one of his best tennis, and I had to agree. As much as that dude loves Wimby, I think he plays some pretty spectacular tennis during AO. 2006[even with the ankle brace] and 2007 anyone?)
5) Will Tsonga's back be a big burden?
6) Will it be Gonzo or Hewitt through to the 2nd round?
7) Will Simon be the owner of a big upset(for some reason, I feel like we're all neglecting this dude especially when he's proven that he's a decent player towards the end of last season)?
8) Will Marat Safin win his last AO tourny??? (Gosh, I'm torn between this and Roger... XD)
Er... that's just a couple of things I'm keeping in mind. ^^; As for the women's side, I'd love to see Venus win as she is my favorite Williams sister. ^^; It's a pity Maria isn't playing. I could care less for Ana - wasn't ever a fan as she's pretty boring, IMO. I'd also love to see Dinara Safina do well. She's one of my favorite Russians next to Maria nad Svetlana. Hehe!

Roger's family gave Rafa a hug at Wimbledon last year, I thought that was pretty sweet considering their son lost.
and GO ROGER! (2007 Australian Open, IMO was the best grand slam performance by a single player of all time, the semifinal anyone?? WOW.)
I see ARod is having an absolute beatdown on Rod Laver right now. Good for him.
ARGH only 7 hours to go til I go to Rod Laver Arena! HOORAH!

Wow, Tomic isn't doing so bad. Took the first set. I would really love to see him get to the second round.

Is it weird that I'm like uberexcited over the most random match. Bernard Tomic, I'm impressed. Starace looked like the 16 year old out there, the boy is a clear thinker when he's on court.
And Novak Djokovic is down 0-4 in the third set. Get it together Nole!
EDIT//
Nole broke back. wins third set 75. Stoppini had a chance to take a set off Djokovic.
That's going to hurt. Jelena Dokic up a set. C'mon Jelena.
EDIT 2//
Muller and Lopez going to 10 all in the fifth set. Wow. C'mon LOPEZ!!

Have fun tonight. Want a recount afterwards.
Oh man, the Muller v Lopez match is nuts. Muller 15-14 in the fifth, with Lopez on serve.
edit;
AH! Muller just won. 16-14 in the fifth. Shoot, I wanted Lopez to win.

I want Tomic to do as well as possible in his first GS. I feel so proud right now. xD I'll keep an eye out for the match.
Casey lost. Aww. But I was kind of mean and rooting for Hantuchova after the first set cause I couldn't wait for Roger. Woo! Excited.

and john alexander just said "He's plummeted to no 2"
er... plummeted???
EDIT
finally
even though it was not a short match it was not a terribly interesting match for me
bleh
but it's great to see roger playing alot more solidly
GO ROGER!

Hahah yeah, when I heard him say that my eyes kind of widened. He was probably just being a bit sarcastic, though.
Not an easy match for Roger. Probably good for him.

And then Roger came on, actually before he came on, his ATP photo came up on the big screen and the screaming was unbelievable. the fan support in general was amazing, quite a bit of whistling and "I love you Roger" when he changed his shirt in the changeover.... I may or may not have been one of those shameless wantons. Fed's turning me into a total pervert. (And how about his new clothes and hair, much shorter, very USO-2006. *likes*)
as for the match there were some pretty TMF-moments in there, especially one point in the first set when Federer got back two of Seppi's lobs in the same rally and ended with a winner. My ear drums almost burst from all the people screaming "NO, NO... GET OUT ROGER" behind me lol. Think people forgot their names for a second then. He went flat a little bit in the second, got annoyed at some net chord luck, and let Seppi back into the match, but overall, not a superb match but not a bad one either from Fed's point of view. pics soon.
I should probably stop making this post look like a journal entry

I'm totally experiencing this vicariously through you
I swear I have the worst luck. Why must I visit Australia in February rather than now? Missing out on all of the action! I need to seriously contemplate making another trip to the USO this year.
