I saw the first set of Serena-Dinara then went straight to bed. AHAHAHA! I already knew she would win, but man... how disheartening it must've been for Dinara. =T And I feel like Serena was SO lucky she even got as far as she did because she was a set down when one of her opponents retired because of the heat or something. dry.gif I mean, yeah, I can't blame the player because saving yourself from a heat stroke is more important than a tennis match... Either way, congrats to Serena for getting to double digits in GS's. Now can we please get Maria back?! haha. It's bad enough without Justine Henin, we don't need another early retiree! Women's tennis is getting so boring sad.gif And no, I don't care much for Jankovic or Ivanovic. Jankovic because I thought she was a sore loser this past AO. Her attitude in losing to Bartoli was appalling, imo. On court, nonetheless, in front of her opponent's face. And I think everyone hyped up Ana a bit too much last year. =X

As for this Rafa-Roger final... I'm not making ANY predictions. LOL. I was reading through some of the comments on the AO site and saw one person make a comment that sounded something like, "Come on Rafa, show Federer that tennis isn't all physical and that it's a mental game!" I was like o__O;; WTF?! Roger's probably the most mentally competent player out there on tour. I mean, if he wasn't, would he have been able to come back during the 4th round against Berdych? And even in 2008 AO during the 3rd round against Tipsarevic? No... no mentally incompetent player could come out to win those matches. Besides, I say Rafa's the more physical player than Roger, although Roger's fitness tends to be underrated, IMO.

Anyways... I want Roger to hold that trophy! ^____^

I can tell Verdasco is going to be in the top ten someday soon b/c he plays great and he plays smart.
Getting to the Semis here at the AO ensured a top 10 spot after the slam. biggrin.gif

Omg omg... Nadal won it! w00t.gif Totally nerve-wracking game, and both players gave their all, so hats off to Federer too. What a final. I'm amazed and delighted for Nadal. What a fighter. A classic encounter.

Go Rafa!! cool.gif

i want to cry ><
this is going to hurt roger so so much
this and wimby is goign to stay with him every time he plays rafa in the future
this is so bleak

EDIT
omg i saw roger a little red-eyed but didnt expect that emotional breakdown from me
"This is killing me"
my god, watching him was killing me too
couldnt help but cry with him as well
this is just so so painful... wimby and now this
i dunno how roger is going to pull himself together for the rest of the season
it was really sweet when rafa sorta hugged him on stage
and i know he's a nice guy and felt sorry that he had to take the trophy off this guy which he respected so much
this is prolly nearly as devastating as wimby
i hope roger can get back up from this

I don't know what to say.
I was fine until Roger lost it. And then I lost it. Bad. How the hell am I going to sleep.

Terrible tournament for my memory. It's Wimbledon all over again.

Yeah, if Roger had won the third, there was no way Rafa could've come back from that. The whole match would've been in Roger's hands, I feel.
And that last set was terrible. UEs left and right from Roger.

Rafa was a real sport, though. It's been said countless times, but the sportsmanship from both Roger and Rafa is amazing. We're really lucky to have these two at the top of Tennis. But never would I have expected Roger to break down like that. It was just so heartbreaking. I can't even explain. But you guys know.
Okay, note to self: stop criticising and stop crying. D: Get to bed.

wow what a match!!
on championship pt my heart was beating real fast!
CONGRATS to BOTH!!

i say rafa's mental strength is absolutely incredible!! he looked really tired in the 4th set alr!
VAMOS RAFA!
that was a hard fought win and your defence was great!

i felt so bad for fed when he cried!
i thought at the start of the match, he played really well with the stinging winners and that got me worried for rafa!

so glad rafa held on there and prevailed biggrin.gif

VAMOS! (:
i wish i could think of some sweet impactful madeup phrase to insert here.lol<3

i think after wimby, roger was shocked more than anything
and he had a bit more time before the presentation to pull himself together
but here, i think he really believed that he could win this
and when ur expectations are shattered, u can become devastated
i can almost understand how he feels, u try to control ur emotions but the whole crowd is crying out your name, and you just become overwhelmed
and i just knew it, now that rafa has won, the media is at it
that perhaps they need to shift their focus on rafa who may become the greatest of all time (as opposed to roger)
i just think this is ridiculous
how long ago was it that they thought murray was the up and coming, dangerous in threatening the big 3?
in just a week it's all different
just like last year when roger lost to djoko, then to rafa
the media was at him the whole freakin year
then after the US open everyone changed again
but as roger get older, i know he will get more vulnerable to media attack
and it's prolly getting to him more as well
mirka looked so concerned during the match, a rare thing from her
they all knew how important it was for roger to win
and jim courier is right, as long as roger is unable to overcome this mentally
it will be hard for him to win against rafa in GS's

i dont konw where to vent this sadness and frustration
rf.com is jammed
as expected
ii guess i'm just going to have to try sleep on it
