You're just going to be more awkward with him than you were before. Believe me.. I've had MANY bad roommate stories (sexilism, smelly roommates, stupid ones, dirty ones, disrespectful ones, racist ones). One time, I got sick b/c of my roommate, and got so fed up with him watching tv at 3am... that I almost got him expelled after he challenged me to a fight, and I reported all his weapons to university authorities. It was my word, one word away, from getting him kicked out. But I chose not to. (Here, like all universities we have a zero-tolerance policy with weapons, esp. after 9-11 and Columbine)

And, this was one of my good friends from high school. Up to last semester, we cleared things up, and we both apologized to each other.

While getting revenge is most satisfactory, and I know how to destroy computers (since I build them)... my only advice is to in a friendly way, ask him if he could sleep earlier, since you have classes in the morning.

Getting irritated will only make you more tired.. (believe me.. I'm irritated at my smelly roommate right now, and it's almost 4am)

But yeah avoid messing his computer up; it might lead to violence, univeristy police, this and that... and before you know it, a $40K education down the train.

Get a single next semester or year, but for now, just talk to him about it. I have an exam in 5 hours, and I'm on my computer with my desk lamp on while my roommate is sleeping.. but I got no other way to study.

How did he wake you up with his computer? Did the hum of the computer wake you up? Or did he start playing loud games and music on it? Or is he studying?[i stay up typing papers on my comp late in the night loads of time while my roomie sleeps with no problem] If it's the first, you could always tell him you're a light sleeper and that it'd be great if he could take his computer into the hall or something. Or if it's the second, ask him to use headphones because the noise wakes you up. If it's the third, try to stick it up for a day or two..if it's more than that, ask him to type his papers in the common room or something.

You're in college, talking is the best recourse and should be the first. Then if he doesn't so anything abt this problem, then you can have a right to complain and call him inconsiderate. Why waste time messing up his comp when a simple request might solve everything.

Be glad you're roommate isn't trying to have sex while he thinks you're asleep or steals your stuff. or has bad body odor.

this is college, ppl sleep at various times according to their work habit, so it might not be his fault..

if he's making noises or playing music without headphones, then tell the f**** to shut up and use head phones.

otherwise, if its class related, then theres not much to be done except ADAPT
