It was hard to sing tho
All those falsetto and adlibs...
I wish someone could tell me how I can train for those techniques.
Please give any suggestions or critiques.
Thanx
Kevin - One Last Cry
===Lyrics===
One Last Cry
My shattered dreams and broken heart
Are mending on the shelf
I saw you holding hands, standing close to someone else
Now I sit all alone wishing all my feeling was gone
I gave my best to you, nothing for me to do
But have one last cry
Chorus:
One last cry, before I leave it all behind
I’ve gotta put you outta my mind this time
Been living a lie
I guess I’m down to my last cry
Cry......
I was here, you were there
Guess we never could agree
While the sun shines on you
I need some love to rain on me
Still I sit all alone, wishing all my feeling was gone
Gotta get over you, nothing for me to do
But have one last cry
Chorus:
One last cry, before I leave it all behind
I’ve gotta put you outta my mind this time
Been living a lie
I know I gotta be strong
But round me life goes on and on and on
And on.....
I’m gonna dry my eyes
Right after I had my
One last cry
Chorus:
One last cry, before I leave it all behind
I’ve gotta put you outta my mind for the very last time
Been living a lie
I guess I’m down
I guess I’m down
I guess I’m down...
To my last cry...

1st of all, I wanna give u MAJOR props for even attempting thi song. Brian Mcknight songs are always vocally strenuous (if that makes any sense, lol).
I love the original, so i had to listen to ur version.
U change some of the keys slightly during some lines, i'm guessing because some parts are too high, and i don't blame u tho. I could tell some notes are off, but overall you did great. The line "Right after I had my" sounded wayyyyyy on, it was like perfect. hehe. you've got a great voice and this is a pretty darn good rendition of this song. U kinda give it ur own style, but it sounds nice! I really like ur low range too ... the lower notes sound nice w/ ur voice.
I have no suggestions as to work on this song, except to practice. practice doing the scale everyday and within time, u may find that ur range expands. juss keep singing, that's all i can suggest, lol. sorry if i'm not much help.
btw...where did u get the instrumental for this? can u send it to me.
great job,
take care,
Tab ^_~

Actually I've never heard of Brian McKnight's version. The version I have has Justin Timberlake as the artist in the file name, but I'm pretty sure it's not Justin. So I don't know who's the singer in my version. Maybe that's why you thought I changed some keys? Although I did change some parts near the end.
I don't have the real instrumental, I vocal ripped it. so can't help ya there. sorry.
Thanx for listening

My advice is a little more emotion rather than power.. mostly in the chorus of "one last cry," I'd show a bit more passion when you're singing that phrase.
But good job. :0)

The low notes are <3. You should sing more English. Maybe some Japanese too. But I'm getting off track XD
I agree with susan, a little more emotion would help. It doesn't sound like you're going to cry XD However, nicely done~ you've the perfect voice for these ballads.

But as someone above had mensioned, it could've been better if you place more emotions in the chorus.
Anyhoo...Good Job, keep it up!

i'll be honest here.
1. you should enunciate more when singing.
2. I liked your voice.
3. I'll like it better if your voice was a bit stronger though when singing this song.
4. Your voice is really soothing
5. I liked it that you actually put some emotions when singing this song.

i think you did a great job but this song requires a lot of emotion + strong vocals...plus it's very high but this is brian mcknight we're talking about haha

Thanks Carol for the banner. Fleur rocks for making Owen look sexy!

So what if Brian McKnight's version is "stronger." Just because he's the original artist, people assume that his way is the "correct" way, when really, there isn't a correct way to sing any song... as long as it follows the rules of good singing.
Honestly, you're one of the better guys on soompi, if not the best that I've heard. Good job and keep it up!

Is it just me or does it seem slower than usual? I know the Justin file you're talking about.. his name is Justin but it definitely ain't Timberlake.
lol, i think you guys might have the N-Synce version, cause that`s what it`s called on my computer & the whole song seems to be song by JC. ANYWAYS,
good job, your voice was really soothing.

I think that you need a bit more emotion in it though.
I really like your voice too!
Nice job!
