Bobby Kim and special guest DJ Shine will be performing at KASCON 20's Saturday night concert and The Movement, featuring DJ JHiG and Roscoe Umali, will be spinning at the After Party.
Bobby Kim is hailed as one of the forefathers of Korea's booming hip-hop movement. He has won critical and public acclaim, topped the charts as a rapper, singer, and songwriter, and has worked a decade behind the scenes as composer and collaborator for heavyweights such as Drunken Tiger, Dynamic Duo, LeeSsang, Eun Ji-Won, and Tasha. In 2004, he dropped his first solo album, Beats Within My Soul, which won him 'Hip-Hop Artist of the Year' as well as recognition as one of GQ Korea's Men of the Year. The following year, he regrouped his hip-hop band, Buga Kingz, and continued to roll in high profile projects with the rock icon, Yoon Do-Hyun, and the electronica sensation, Clazziquai. For 2006, Bobby is currently preparing his second solo album set for release this summer.DJ Shine was the partner in crime who, along with Tiger JK, formed Drunken Tiger, the rap duo that shook Korea's hip-hop scene. Together, they crafted five legendary albums and established an imposing legacy. In 2005, DJ Shine stepped aside from Drunken Tiger to rest, recharge, and reinvent himself as a solo artist. DJ Shine’s long anticipated solo effort is slated to hit the streets later this summer.
