Go to Start Menu -> Run -> [Type in "wmplayer" (without the quotes)], however, I do recommend you install something else as a media player like Winamp or Foobar2000 for music and Media Player Classic (you'd probably want the .zip version) for videos

Add shortcut on desktop

Win-XP Click on start> all programs>accesories>entertainment> RIGHT click on windows media player, a new menu window opens, scroll down to "send to" another menu opens, then click on " desktop(create shortcut)"

add to start menu

drag icon on desktop to start button and release.

Easy! Huh! ohmy.gif

And thanks Osix for the recomendation of the music player.

go look in start----all programs
windows media player should be in there somewhere
if it is on your computer,
right click it and create a short cut
then drag it to your desktop^^
