The place is Nikki Beach, the beautiful beachside outdoor venue on South Beach, Miami. It has been described by some as ‘the sexiest place on earth’. Bring your Bikini’s and board shorts because you’ll be chilling during the day to a sexy, laidback classic, soul and disco soundtrack. This will be served up next to Defected’s big beach barbeque which will encourage a social start to the party.
There will be a special Ibiza style sunset set played and the beats will get tougher as the sky gets darker. The party moves from the beach to the open covered dancefloor until the early hours. Here you will find Junior Jack and Kid Crème and Sandy Rivera at their very best. Breaking up the dominance of the DJ sets will be our LIVE performances. Expect to see live P.A’s throughout the day and night from the likes of Blaze, Lee Fields (Jealousy, I’m a Good Man and Everybody), the soul and acid jazz diva Monique Bingham, and the legendary Barbara Tucker who will host the event and perform the soon to be re-released Blaze – Feat Barbara Tucker – Most Precious Love. Shovel (M people) will be on hand all day delivering a fitting Cuban vibe on percussion.
At 10pm a second party starts in Pearl annexed to Nikki Beach. Here Soul Heaven are your hosts for the evening and they will bring you sets from Blaze, DJ Spen, Dennis Ferrer and Aaron Ross as well as many others. The event will be filmed exclusively by Rapture TV and broadcast live on the XM Satellite Network which covers the length and breadth of America and streamed live on the Defected website.
All DJ’s will be using the new Pioneer DJM-800 Digital mixer which will be exclusively launched at the event. They will be able to fully exploit the mixers key new features which displays ‘Harmonic Mixing’ capability which will allow the DJ’s to ultimately perfect their technique and deliver fantastic sound quality.
