junior year's the year the really tops it all off -- it counts. just concentrate
on doing well that year instead of colleges. come summertime when you're
becoming a senior, then start visiting/worrying/etc.

I started in the late summer after my junior year going into senior year. But definitely try to start your apps in the summer and have as much as possible done by fall. Then you can spend time refining them, and you won't have to have a miserable stressed-out holiday season like I did, lol.

you can't apply to colleges in your junior year. colleges don't even consider you for acceptance until they've seen your transcript. they want to see how well you did junior year which is crucial and they want to see the courses you are taking senior year as to see that you are not simply coasting until graduation. it's good to get things started around the summer-fall after junior year. oh yea and in junior year you should get friendly with a couple of your teachers and guidance counselor because you'll need them for recommendations

I started doing my apps like.. Not even a month before they were due XD They only took me like.. 3 whole days to do anyway.
But there were also other things I had to take care of, like making slides for my artwork, making copies of newspaper articles, etc smile.gif

uhmmm i started on nov 1st during my senior year. i dont really think u can get ahead with the application process because u have to wait a while for the school to make the online app available. u wouldn't even know the essay prompts yet so u can't even write them ahead. in general, during the oct-nov time, most seniors start applying for colleges.

i think if u keep up your gpa maybe boost it up more if u can, it'll greater ur chances into UCI. make sure to do very well ur jr year. that's the high school year. so yea =)
go on and say it
u need me like a bad habit

You can write most of the essays months before the aps are due.
Actually, some of my friends wrote it in the summer after junior year. This gave them a huge bump since they could rewrite or redo once school started.

Your GPA looks good. A decent SAT and you will be in!

true about the essay prompts, but you can work on essays ahead of time for things like the Common App, whose essay prompts stay the same year after year.

i started at the beginning of senior year...mostly because jhu's app wasnt online during the summer and that's the only place i wanted to go.

but if you can start in the summer of junior year, DO IT. trust me. it's better to get it over with then having to do a million apps during the school year when you have homework and stuff.

oh yea and some colleges allow juniors to apply to them. i think emory does it.

junior is the most important. make sure you do well in your classes... ^^

be prepared to finish all your SATs by the end of your junior year (it's a pain to worry about it during senior year WHILE applying to schools)...

and then beginning of senior year is usually when pplz start applying for schools. you can look into early admission/decision programs if the schools you want to go have them. =)
