The mouse pad for my laptop doesn't work. I can use an external mouse, just not the touchpad. It happened a few days ago when I was trying to hook it up to a projector and my computer just frozed.
I've had my laptop less than a year, so it isn't that old, but I've had problems with the mouse previously (sensitivity issues) but it's always fine afterwards--until now.
I've never spilled anything on it, so I'm not sure what the problem is.

You might want to reinstall the drivers for it (find it on the manufacture's site)
Other than that... I dunno. It might physically be loose from the circuit internally.

Or maybe u accidentally, turned it off. I know on my Toshiba, there is a hotkey to turn on and off the touch pad. I just press the 'Fn' and 'f9'. If u can't do it that way, then look on the bottom right corner of ur screen and find the icon for the touch pad and see if its disabled or not.
