can anyone recommend me some medical non-fiction/biographies?
michael crichton's (you know, the jurassic park guy) "travels" is what first came to mind... i think the first half of it is recounting his time at harvard med school, but then it starts to get really weird... like into the paranormal stuff. seriously. ben carson is another popular author/doctor who's written his memoirs, and there was a really popular book called "the spirit catches you and you fall down," about a hmong family's conflict with western medicine. i'm not sure it was a medical book, but it was shelved in the medical section at borders when i worked there.
right now i'm reading bill bryson's "the life and times of the thunderbolt kid" and "frederick and fredericka" by... i don't remember.

i've actually read *the spirit catches you & you fall down* not too long ago...quite an emotional read, as i can personally relate to the story. one of my favorite books...
i'm in search of another similar book...not necessarily on the topic of epilepsy. as a nursing student, i'm always on the lookout for books (non-fiction, biographies, fiction/lit...) where the focus is on health, medicine, diseases & the like...
any other recommendations anyone? thanks in advance!
btw...
CHECK OUT MY BOOKSTORE!! hehe.

It's a really great book. It's so much better than what I expected, especially when I'm not a sci-fi fan. Even if you don't like sci-fi, give this one a chance, you won't regret it.
