I'm currently reading Something Wonderful by Judith Mcnaught.
I love all her historical romance books. My favorites are "Whitney, My Love" and "Almost Heaven"

i'm really into fantasy/adventure, horror, drama, historical fiction?
you and I have similar tastes in genres
Well, here are some of my recommendations-
Horror:
IT, Stephen King
Vampire Chronicles by Anne Rice
Witching Hour, Anne Rice
Fantasy:
The Dark Tower Series by Stephen King
Sabriel by Garth Nix
Anita Blake series by Laurell K. Hamilton
Drama:
Les Miserables by Victor Hugo
The Feast of All Saints by Anne Rice
Cry to Heaven by Anne Rice
Belinda by Anne Rice
Lolita by Vladimir Nobokov
Death in Venice by Thomas Mann
Historical Fiction:
The Twentieth Wife by Indu Sundaresan
The Other Boleyn Girl by Philippa Gregory
Artemisia by Alexandra Lapierre
You'll notice I have a lot of faves by Anne Rice. There are a few people who say she's long winded and boring but I think if you have enough attention span, you'll realize that she writes beautifully, eloquently. Of course, that's only my opinion, and my opinion also tells me that some of her best works have also been the best works of fiction that I've ever read. I'd suggest Cry to Heaven or The Queen of the Damned if you are going to start reading her works, both are my absolute favorites.
Alot of Stephen King's works are pretty good (Pet Cemetary, Insomnia, etc.etc.), you'll easily find shelves full of his work at any bookstore, of course.
I warn you that the Anita Blake series gets heavy on the sex later, not exactly happy with the later books but the first ten or so are worth reading.
Oh, btw, you'll find that well written biographies turn out to be much more interesting than historical fiction, I consider most historical fiction novels as merely light reading.
So there you go, I hope you find something you like

A story of a poor family living in Brooklyn at the turn of the century (1900's) and their hardships, family, and growing up in general, etc.
It's a good book, and I found it inspirational in a way.
And I've just recently started on the Da Vinci Code...
Yeah, I'm really late.
