I LOVE Anne Rice, I started reading her books in sixth grade and have read all of them to date (with the exception of her latest release; I just can't seem to accept that she went from vampires and witches to Jesus...).
Anyhow, I'd say that the best book of her vampire chronicles is by far Queen of the Damned, although all of them up to Blood and Gold are very good.
I'd also recommend The Witching Hour, the first book of the series of the Mayfair witches.
My absolute favorite book that I've ever read though is Cry to Heaven.
Have fun reading =)

On another note, I'm currently reading Caravaggio and rereading the Harlequin

i just finished reading just listen by sara dessen. it was good.. the main love interest doesn't make you feel jittery like twilight, but it's still cute. i also read the perks of being a wallflower by stephen chbosky.. possibly the best book i've read ever. o_o
annnd water for elephants by sara gruen. that was intense, really good. it's really descriptive.
right now i'm re-reading the lovely bones by alice sebold until i can find a new read

You do not need to leave your room. Remain sitting at your table and listen.
Do not even listen, simply wait, be quiet, still and solitary.
The world will freely offer itself to you to be unmasked,
it has no choice, it will roll in ecstasy at your feet.

i was reading "Bloodletting and Miraculous Cures" by Vincent Lam...i got a little bored of it though but ive heard it gets really good so i will finish it.... nothing holds my interest these days so im eagerly waiting for Harry Potter 7!

i read that! it starts out okay, but then the writing style changed completely =___=. got really boring afterwards. the best part imo, is the whole imaginary skit played out in the main character's head when he goes to visit his girlfriend in uni. really funny, but other than that, it was pretty boring

A song can take you back instantly to a moment, a place or even a person.
No matter what else has changed in you or the world, that one song stays the same, just like that moment.

Oooo I LOVE Jane Eyre! So good smile.gif Although the film with Anna Paquin was not as satisfying...

I just finished reading Water for Elephants by Sara Gruen, and Middlesex by Jeffrey Eugenides (the guy who wrote The Virgin Suicides). Both very very good reads. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED! They're both on full display at Borders and Barnes.

Water for Elephants went by a lot faster, maybe 2 hours? I never put it down. Middlesex took me about 3 days because I kept getting distracted, but it's definitely not boring.

I used to like Anne rice, but then her novels started to delve more into unrealistic and random erotica/sexuality. It started getting really cheesy, imo.

The Memory Keeper's Daughter

I lent it to a friend & I forgot who wrote it.. but that book was amazing. I have to admit that I shed some tears over it. It might start off slow, but towards the middle and end.. you can NOT put it down. It was that good. Give it a try

After hearing so many recommendations and buzz around the book "Twilight" I finally found a copy of the novel at B&N and sat down to read it right away when I got home. I'm now already halfway through it and I really couldn't see what the appeal is about. The fact that bothers me the most is that Edward is just too ... perfect, too perfect to be likable. I mean, obviously he is not human, but geez, it's just too unrealistic. He's basically every woman's dream man and I never feel that Bella or anyone else on this earth deserves such a man. Add in the fact that Bella isn't exactly a lovable heroine, she appears to be quite selfish and needy. And so far, I just think the story is a bit flat and uneventful. Perhaps I'm just not used to reading chick lit *sighs*. Now I really want to read Jane Eyre again.
