GASP. JOHN STEINBECK IS NOT KNOWN TO WRITE BORING BOOKS. He's awesome. <3
haha sorry ur right ur right
i read grapes of wrath in gr nine cuz my best friend told me how it was sooooooooooooooo good so i had high expectations.. at that time i read like horror novels.. easy stuff.. so it felt like a book school would assign u to read for hmk...
but yeah after reading east of eden.. finally finished! my judgement on steinback was wrong.. now i understand why he's a really good writer... i'm gonna read the pearl next. my sis said that was good too..
"That depends a good deal on where you want to get to," said the Cat.
"I don't much care where--" said Alice.
"Then it doesn't matter which way you go,' said the Cat.

The Return of the Native by Thomas Hardy.
How do you like it? I found it..suffocating and barely made it past the first book. But I've heard that it gets much better after the first book...
Finishing:
The Wind Up Bird Chronicle- Harumi Murakami
Lolita- Nabokov
Going to really start:
The Tale of Genji- Lady Murasaki
*sigh* class has severely cut into my reading.
can you guys recommend me some good books to read that pertains to US history from 1607-1877?? i have to do a book review, but i have no idea what book to do it on.
The Life and Times of Fredrick Douglass- Fredrick Douglass
autobiographical account of his life as a slave. Good.
I'm a girl.
