It's my favorite book of all time, and I've done a crapload of reading. It's like...a literary orgasm. There are more clever allusions in that thing than even the annotated version can spot. I think I've read it around...twenty or thirty times. He's amazing, especially when you consider that English is his second or third language (Russian being his first).

Right now, I'm reading The Painted Veil by recommendation of my dad. I started reading it on the plane without really knowing what it was about. Ten pages through, I stopped and read the comments on the cover. It said something like "The famous and macabre odyssey of a young boy in Nazi-infested Eastern Europe." It's dark. And gruesome.

I just finished Elsewhere by Gabrielle Zevin. I found it surprisingly touching and funny. The Marilyn Monroe part gave me stitches. laugh.gif I'm looking forward to reading her other novel Memoirs of a Teenage Amnesiac.

I'm also done reading most of the Sherlock Holmes short stories. Shame on me for not reading them until now since detective novels are my favourite. tongue.gif

Ambition by Kate Brian. It's part of a really good suspenceful series called Private. I suggest some people check it out if you like mystery, suspence, scandal, high school setting and really good dialogue! ^__^

<3 Revelations by Melissa De La Cruz
De La Cruz has an act for writing one of the most elaborate, dynamic,
and addictive characters I've ever read. The from the moment I picked
up 'Revelations' and started reading, I couldn't put it down. The plot
sucked me in and the characters stole my heart.

I would HIGHLY RECOMMEND this book to all vampire enthusiast out there.

This is currently my favorite book as of now. This is also the 3 installment
in this series.

Others right now~
The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo by Stieg Larsson
Sundays At Tiffany's by Robert Patterson
The Dark Tower: The Gunslinger by Stephen King

I read too much >.<

I'm currently halfway through Kafka On The Shore by Haruki Murakami.

So far, this is my favourite book of his, being my long-time number one (Norwiegian Wood) biggrin.gif
I'm really loving it and even if I'm not done with it, I'm already planning on re-reading it.

I just finished A Wild Sheep Chase and now I'm on to my 4th Haruki Murakami novel, Sputnik Sweetheart, which I am actually enjoying more than A Wild Sheep Chase right now.

Lolita - Vladimir Nabokov

Nice start.. I'm still on chapter 4 though and the writer uses complicated words but it's still a promising book. smile.gif

I've just started Tempted by Cecily Von Ziegesar. It has a pretty good start and it's getting better. i just can't predict what can happen next! I think that must be a good thing.
I recommend it to those who like romance, high school setting/themes, and other series like Gossip Girl, The Clique, Private, Pretty Little Liars, etc.
Next book for me is probably Masquerade by Melissa De La Cruz. I just need to get my hands on it!
