So.. yeah. I was just wondering what you soompiers think of my chances >< Alot of you guys are from the States so you'd have a better idea than I do.
In my case, my grades are acceptable (right now I have about a 93-94%.. But in grade 9-10 my grades weren't that great, but they've been improving by 3-4% every year, starting at about 82% in grade 9) but my SAT scores are pretty crap. Pretty crap as in the 600's or so for each category *please shoot me*
But yeah, supposedly alot of admissions people say that they're more lenient towards Canadian students because they don't get as much of an opportunity to study for their SATs. But I dunno if that applies to all colleges~
BUT.. other than that, everything else is supposedly really good I guess. I've won an international poster design competition before that won me 2 trips to the Olympics (Salt Lake and then Athens, respectively), single-handedly organized an arts exhibition & charity auction that raised $8000 for the SickKids Foundation, founded the Free the Children chapter at my school, president of a volunteer club at my school, grade rep for student council, participated in 2 short term missions trips with my Church (we taught Vacation Bible School to Aboriginal children in Northern Quebec), vice chairperson of my youth group, a weekly volunteer at my church (for the past 4-5 years), participated in many arts exhibitions (I also included some of my artwork in my apps), currently studying grade 8 piano, and um.. Some other extra-curriculars that aren't THAT important I guess ><
*EDIT* Oh right.. If it DOES matter, I'm a first generation college applicant.. and um.. *no idea*
*runs away* XDD
Soooo.. What do you guys think?
I feel so weird posting so much.. personal info about myself ><
I'm so scared =/ Arg.

i think you have a chance because of your leadership positions in all your activities. you definitely have a nice wide variety of them.
good luck! hopefully you get in

but as the above poster mentioned, there's so much more to this random process than gpa and test scores: your ecs, essays, recommendations will ALL count especially at schools of this caliber.
best of luck! and don't take what i said too harshly. i'm just a hs senior as well, who's basing his opinions on last year's seniors, this year's ed applicants, and other personal observations.

not to sound like an ass or anything, but don't have too high expectations for yourself this coming thursday. a 1900-2000 -- especially as an ASIAN applicant -- won't cut it for schools like harvard, princeton and yale. sure, numbers definitely aren't everything, but they're the components of the application that "get you in" to the next stages. your gpa doesn't seem too high either.

That's okay.

i think SAT's are a BIG factor for admission. iuno about canadian students
but ur extra curric's might pull you thru. i think you have a shot!
also alot of other factors contribute too (essay, rec's, etc)

yu knoe yurself best, yu did everythin` that yu could
if yu don`t get in, i`m sure it`s js b/c that college wasn`t meant for yu
& i`m sure they`ll regret it when yu become extremely successful ;]
the whole college admissions process is extremely tricky & confusin` & whatnot. not everythin` is based on yur grades.
keep yur hopes up & g`luck this week w. HYP!!

Honestly, you have nothing that makes you a competitive applicant except for some of the ECs you've listed. Your SAT scores are really, really, really low for ivy league schools. In addition you're an international applicant so wouldn't it be harder for you to gain acceptance? I'm not sure how that works..
I have a friend who applied to Harvard and she goes to one of the top public schools in the nation where the average SAT score (verbal + math) is over 1400.. she has an amazing GPA and holds a lot of executive positions and has achieved a lot in terms of ECs. However she was rejected, and I was really surprised.
So my post is basically.. I know you know that you dont have the stats of some of your other friends but I wouldn't expect to be admitted. If I had your stats, my applying to HYP would be just for my mental sanity that says, "at least I tried"

I know someone with a 1900 SAT score that got into Columbia, with a few C's on that transcript as well. But then again, Columbia is very..diverse in its admissions.
