this just happened recently. my dvd drive won't read any dvds, cds or blank cds. i click on properties and it said "Device status: this drive is working properly". i restarted my computer tons of times and did a sysytem restore but it won't work still. does anyone know how to solve this? thanks in advance ^^

Most of the time I just link you to it, but you know how to get to the device manager already.
Just uninstall your drive.. right click uninstall. restart the computer let windows find it again and most of the time it fixes everything.
