I'm really surprised cuz i thought it as hard to get into. i had 79 avg and i made it...

Its really far from toronto tho, is it a good school for economics? and is it a full white/nerd school or what?

edit: what is the race ratio? smile.gif

Congratulations! It's not that far from Toronto, about 1-1.5 hours. Yeah, Laurier is known for its business program and people who take business at Waterloo goto Laurier for classes since our Universities have an agreement. It's mostly white, but not nerd, more partiers (than Waterloo at least). If you're looking for Asian (read: Chinese) nerds there's plenty down the street at Waterloo. I goto UW if you haven't figured out by now tongue.gif

LOL I'm an asian in Laurier.
Yeah its true theres not many asians in Laurier, but the asians that are there are close to each other.

If you are looking for asian friends you can always go over to UWaterloo to look for some.

I think Laurier is a great school, its a small community with tons of friendly students + teachers.
It can be a party school but it really depends on the person.

I heard the arts program is pretty chill but interesting, but people there are pretty active in school clubs/ activities so theres lots to do smile.gif

Wow I'm REALLY surprised that people would know about WLU in this forum =O
I've been on this forum for like years now and I never expected so many people from the town of Waterloo lol =)

Anyways I go to WLU now =)
And I can basically vouch for anything >_> I'm second year so it's not like I know EVERYTHING but for first year experience, I got lots of that ^^

Well I don't know about Atkinson at york, but I have like 3 friends in Schulich right now... they said something about how they might remove that school from York because they want York to ONLY been known for their ONE GOOD business school =S I don't know how true that is... but I wouldn't go to york now, especially after the strike and all lol =P

On the other hand, I was accepted into UTSC too for non-coop and I didn't go there =P Just because I REALLY value coop as an option and I wouldn't go to UTSC otherwise. I heard that their regular business admin program isn't anything spectacular so =S I have 2 friends who are in the coop option one and they like it so =) they just don't like the environment =X

So out of the 3 options, I would really consider WLU =) It's a decent program, the people are great AND you get the option of applying for coop second year ^^ I applied this year and I got in. AND in this bad economy, I still got a job, so I'm happy =)

Well I answered all the questions above lol =P

It's a very small community of students, so chances of you bumping into people, seeing friends and stuff is very high =O even being a second year student lol (and I live OFF campus).
As for a party school? Well I definitely think we party more than UW (down the street lol) but I have alot of UW friends too so I guess we party together. I also found that since it's a small school, people don't tend to just stick with friends in their facilities, but I have friends from arts, business, sci and communication studies ^^

I wouldn't say that the art program here at WLU are GREAT... they're average? o_O lol
I would say that the thing that stands out most is the school of business and economics. Otherwise, French, and music are also REALLY good programs here.
Ya, there's not A LOT of asians haha =P the majority are white and it really depends on your program? that you might have a lot of asians in your classes and stuff. I'm in business so I think about 1/3 of our program is asian ^^

Hope that helps!

agreed~
aside from it being called the highschool down the street (compared to the sheer size of the waterloo campus to laurier), they have a tighter community, better fitness facilities and arts programs. If you are looking for asian friends just come to Waterloo, or better yet take the Double Degree Math/Bussiness program! You get the best of both worlds. Math at Waterloo, business at Laurier.

I applied there to but I got accepted into U of Waterloo, so I think I'm gonna go there. =']
Isn't Laurier like the High school down the Street from U of Waterloo? Lmfao Jokes.
Anywho Laurier sounds fun. I heard there are more Asians in the Business Program in Laurier then all their other programs.
Congratulations Again!

I think the guy girl ratio is more equal at laurier... but for waterloo there are more guys than girls because of engineering and the maths.
