Do You guys even know what "American Idiot" is about? "American Idiot" is about politics. They made "American Idiot" because they never made a political Album.

They don't suck, I think they are the best band ever.

Uhhh.. yeah. And I don't mind political songs, but I believe 100% they made that album because they knew if they made an album knocking American politics and joining the rest of those punk-wannabes for the "I hate Bush" club, then they WOULD be popular again. It's like they didn't care what they sung about, just as long as they picked something that would put them in the spotlight. Which is one of the reasons why I've lost all respect for them now. And "American Idiot" is such a sh*tty song. It's like a song 12 year olds would listen to when they feel like rebelling against the government.

heard tom is coming out (last i heard, it's probably out now) with a solo album...

yay i guess...

the only song i liked from them was that basket song. the title slipped from my head. but it had really catchy tunes.

hmm i never listened to Green day much except for last year. I've heard of them before but i recently started listening to their American idiot album and i think its pretty cool. I'm not a huge fan but I do think they have some good songs.

I never liked them and after hearing a few recent songs of them, i tink they're trying way to hard to be politically involved. 'When Stepember ends' is so f*cking annoying. It's not even sad or emotionally touching as they like to believe. Don't get me started..

I like em but i dont listen to them anymore cuz they allways dissappear and such...but my gosh ive only heard their new music but i like TIme Of Your Life i had to sing it for my primary school graduation

i don't like the guy's voice or the way they look. somebody before mentioned leprechaun? i think he looks like a hobbit. i wouldn't say i hate them, but i dislike them.

green day isn't political , just as heffyend said . they just know all the cool kids hate bush , so they make a record about it and make people feel intelligent listening to top 50 "political statements" , perhaps under the misguided impression that they're being controversial .

i don't care about political songs as such (although why they're necessary only god knows) , but i don't see what green day's said that hasn't been written about in papers or mentioned in the news - it's not like they've come across some amazing thing nobody knew about already . they're just trying to say "we don't like bush , and we're not going to be brainwashed by his government like all those other stupid people out there . we're way too clever and our eyes are way too made-up for that" . how stupid . he's just the president , he's not freaking hitler . if you don't like him , don't vote for him or move out

nobody needs to make political statements that have no actions or true opinions behind them . it just undermines people who want to make proper statements about things ..
