UCSD or UCI??

I got into both UCI and UCSD Muir College(but as a Winter ADmit) and I'm having a really hard time deciding on which one to go to..
My dilemma is....
UCSD in general is a better school than UCI, so obviously I should choose SD...
BUT, SD is more known for their engineering/biochem, which I am definitely not interested in. I'm more interested in the Entertainment Business/Advertisement/Graphic Design area, which UCI is known for.
My sister currently attends UCSD, so it'd be alot easier for my parents when they want to visit. It'd also be better for me, since she's always there to help me out during my freshman year. Also, I've got to know some of my sister's friends and they're really wanting me to go to SD.
I also like the people at SD better than the people from I.
So basically, my gut feeling is that I would probably end up at SD, but I'm worried about what I would study there..and if what I study at SD would actually benefit me more than what I would've gotten out of going to Irvine..
GAHH! I really don't know...
What should I do???? Helpppp ><

first off, you should come down on the final choice with consideration on your life.
you shouldn't feel obligated to anything that you don't want to.
anyways, if you UCSD is generally a better school but if UCI has the curriculum that benefits your major better than you should choose the school of your fitting. but environment is a big issue, and it seems UCSD is way better for you environment-wise so ultimately i think it'll be fitting if you went to UCSD. if it doesn't work out, you can always transfer.

The answer to this is easy: you need to go to a campus that has what you want to study and not because of prestige. A lot of people get bitten by the college prestige bug, but its much much more important to study what you want rather than going to a campus thats slightly more well known.
The Irvine atmosphere is very mellow as well and just because you initially didn't like some of the people at Irvine doesn't mean that they're all going to be that way. Part of the college experience is also growing up and doing things on your own. So perhaps not having your sister around could be a big plus.

u shoulda made this a poll ^^
i vote irvine! just becuz that would b where i would go if those were the 2 colleges i had to choose from. and plus, uci is moving up really fast on the rank list and its becoming a more respectable and known school (and some of my teachers didnt even kno a ucsd exsited but they had heard of uci) so dont even base it on school academics or "prestiege" and everybody i kno who goes to irvine loves it there so like regardless of where u go i think ur gonna make friends and have a good environment

Even though UCSD is a better school overall, I think you should think about the prestige of the MAJOR/department and not the prestige of the school

well i think you should go to the college with your major because going somewhere that isn't is a bad choice. plus UCI campus building are closer so it make it a lot heck easier for you to get to class. but yeah....i see your point. pick which ever one you really wants to go to and trust yourself.

UCSD is building a new structure for their business school/major right now...
but i dont know, you might want to talk to people who are in their business major at ucsd, and perhaps check how the business major ranks at each of these schools...
