my teacher said that he wanted his children to become like me! lol.

another teacher called me an 'excellent biology and chemistry student'

another also said i was 'perhaps the best student at balancing the great amount of extracurriculars while maintaining a high gpa'

idk, those are just little snippets. haha.

if your teacher was nice, they would say "i'm really sorry but i don't feel like i could give you a good recommendation" instead of going through all the trouble of making up a recommendation when they don't really feel it for you and end up making a crappy recommendation. my friend's teacher did that and i actually thought it was better because a fake recommendation is a lot worse... but yeah. sorry for being wildly random.

^ .. Yeah.. didn't really answer my question.. at all.. lol

But jose - that sounds like a really bland recommendation. Surely they can come up with something better? The children thing is nice, though.

i wasn't smart (or actually i didn't bother) to get an extra one from them to open up and read. those comments are just what they told me they wrote.

haha, i have confidence in my teachers' abilities to write good recommendations. i made sure i asked the right ones laugh.gif

well reccommendations arent THAT important, just make sure you get one from a teacher that you connected with and thats intelligent and organized. i tried to get one from a teacher that i liked but he was unorganized and lost everything i gave him [envelope+nyu reccomendation form+resume] (i typed up a resume of sorts and gave them my transcript + SAT score so they had something to work off of)

these reccommendations are supposed to give a lot of insight into your personality in a school setting and how people respond to you. your essay is how you see yourself and what you think about the things you've done or been through

teacher recommendations aren't really that big of a deal so they don't have to be "stellar". well there was this one teacher that didn't let us read our teacher recommendations, well he let certain people read theirs. it was really weird, it seemed that he let all the crappy people read theirs, just to show them what he thought about them, but with the kids that did well he didn't let them read it. but i don't know, because i'm still a little iffy on it. i never got to read what he said and it's going to bug me forever.

hmm... yeah, i agree with others. recommendation letters aren't as important as your g.p.a., SATs, rank, essay, etc. however, go to the teacher that really knows how much effort you've put into that class. i went to my biology and calc. teacher.

it really doesn't matter what subject teacher you go to. just choose the teachers that know you the most and really like you. if you don't really know any of your teachers, then go to the teachers that you had good grades in. if you're trying to get into a certain major, maybe it'd help if you got a recommenation from teachers related to that major. i asked my science and math teacher.
