hiya~
i bought this canon sd450 and it only came with 16MB of memory which stores less than 10 photos...
so i need to buy another sd memory card with more storage.
i've done some looking around, and there's 512 MB, 1GB, 2GB, etc...
i'm thinking 1GB or 2GB, just incase i don't run out of memory when i'm on vacation or wherever.

*could i know what memory everyone else bought for their digicam? smile.gif
*how much can a 1GB store? it is cheaper than a 2GB card, so i'm leaning towards the 1GB.
*what am i supposed to look for when buying a memory card, besides the MB?
*where can i find the most discount on decent memory cards?
thanks<3

2GB

or

1GB

Both are great prices and either will be fast enough for your camera. I personally bought the Transcend when it was $45 and it was great with my A610.

Besides the size, look at the speed. You don't want the card to be slow, because then it will slow your camera down.

I honestly don't think you need 2GB. Save some money, just get the 1GB.

i dont know what the max write speed is for that camera, but take a look at it in the manual
theres no point buying a fast card if your camera cant support it

Umm I'd say 1GB.. because you dont need more than that.. I use 2x 512MB cards in my nikon d70s and that gets me around 200 photos(RAW) or 350(JPEG).. plus if you lose a 2GB card you'll be more sad than if you lost your 1GB one.
I am the minority here.

Yeah, but compare your camera to theirs. I use 512mb, never a problem.

i heard if you get bad memory cards, one day they just stop working but so far that hasn't happened to me. i have a 256mb memory stick for my sony digital camera and it seems fine. i want a larger capacity memory stick for my psp though... too bad they're really expensive =_=

Since I have a similar camera (Canon SD400) and the 1 GB SD card, I'll give u an idea of how many pictures u can take with a 1 GB SD card

(# of pictures) (size)

390 2592 x 1944
604 2048 x 1536
964 1600 x 1200
3631 640 x 480
1714 1600 x 1200 (postcard)

the picture quality is set on Superfine

i think 1 GB should be enough..

hope i helped..

well i recently bought a 1GB Sandisk Memory Pro DUO stick and it's more than enough space for me. However, I must mention that for some odd reason, the memory stick is ONLY compatible with my sony laptop. I tried to load the pics onto my sister's laptop and desktop (both sony) and it doesnt open. I don't know if it's the memory stick itself but just letting you know to be cautious.

i have a canon sd400 and a 1gb card. the memory card came with my camera, cause it was a deal i got online. get the 1gb, you honestly don't need 2gb. it can store around 100 at the highest quality (superfine, highest picture dimensions), and like 500-1000 with average.

mine came with 32MB. and of course that aint enough sleep.gif. so i bought a 256MB, then later on i bought a 512MB. LMAO.. that`s enough for me i think O_o. oh my camera is Sony DSC-T33, it takes up more memory coz it`s 5 mega pixal. so i changed the setting to 1 megapixal. and now i can save wayy more pics >_<.

At first when I bought my digicam, the default memory card that are bundled together are just 16MB. After that I upgraded it to 512MB. To me 512MB is just enough [at the moment] and usually I will just shoot at 3.2MP to save space whereas for the pictures that requires enlargement, I will use 5MP to shoot.

1gb probably is quite enough. If you plan on using it continuous w/out charge, consider how much of that you will actually use up w/a fully charged battery.

For my Sony digital camera, 1gb will record ~45 minutes worth of video.
