Haha, i don't know anyone who DOESN'T love sounders. biggrin.gif
To me, I knew about sounders when i was young. So i view them as almost some of the first hmong singing groups (excluding the hmong singers in thailand) but yeahh.
Like, i knew them around the time i knew Destiny & Paradise and stuff.
I don't know wat i'm going off about. LOL.
but for me, Sounders is one of the old hmong groups that really has talent for wat they do. ^^ (sorry if i sound like i offended other groups. this is just me. ^^)

Wow, haha. Let's see, lemme see if i can help you out. ^^
(I took what you have and wrote it like how i think. ^^)

i live because there is love
it (love) is everything in this world
i live because there is remembrance*
if you aren't here, my heart isn't warm

if this world has no love
even if i have everything it means nothing
since we made a promise
to love one another until the end

no matter how many century*** we'll still love one another
because you and me are a couple
let's treasure our love
until the day we die

i'll do anything** in this world just for love
i'll give you the stars in the sky just for you
even if i have to cross the mountain and sea, as long as i get to see you
even if my life is in harm way, i won't let anything happen to you
remember that i'll do anything** for you

when im happy (smiling) its because of you
with you near by me
i don't have to worry about anything
because you're in my arms

don't let our love go
because if you aren't here i wouldn't be myself

i'll do anything** in this world just for love
i'll give you the stars in the sky just for you
Even if i have to cross the mountain and sea, as long as i get to see you
even if my life is in harm way, i won't let anything happen to you
remember that i'll do anything** for you

Notes:
*what he sings here, it means more like the feeling of missing the person. (: So he's saying that there's the feeling of missing that person...but I can't remember an english word that means that. haha.
**Or instead of saying anything, I think the other word can be 'everything' (: I'm not so sure though. lol. but i feel like it can also be translated as the word everything. (:
***He's saying that no matter how many lives they go through, they'll always still love each other. (:

^^ Anyways, if the random person on the net read the notes I gave, it's ok. smile.gif I think they would understand. smile.gif You see, just like korean and japanese, in hmong, the words make sense to us but when we translate it, if we translate it literally, it gets confusing. @-@ So we gotta translate like how we understand it. you know wat i mean??? happy.gif
Anyways, I think you did a fine job of translating it. smile.gif

Man, I miss this song. It's a beautiful love song. <3333!!!

thank you for the help, sorry for the late thank you , i was at my bro's place for the week and he has no internet connection.

Haha, no problem. ^^
LOL. It's okay. Haha, yes, I'm hmong too but I wouldn't be able to translate it as well as you did. laugh.gif Seriously. ^^
I lived in the U.S. my whole life, haha, so I am americanized. laugh.gif happy.gif

Anyways...
for the heck of it...
any new releases of any hmong singer/groups out there??? ^^ Like a new album coming out from a group or something. Haha~
I don't know much, since I didn't go to MN for July 4 or any of those big events. laugh.gif Usually, that's the place where singers/groups release their stuff at, first. ^^

So like, any songs or albums that you guys think we should keep an eye out for. smile.gif Something like that. smile.gif

um, i dont have any new hmong music to share... unsure.gif

but, reading the translation of that Destiny song,
it reminded me of lyrics that i like best,

Paradise: Goodnight tuskuv hlub.
Kuv piav tsis tau lub ntsiab, ua chim hauv kuv lub siab
~ (i can't explain the ntsiab that shines inside my heart)

ntsiab: heart of the matter, grab, grasp, objective.

isn't that word so beautiful? i love that word. i think it's romantic.
dont laugh at me tongue.gif

Wow didn't know there was a hmong music thread. smile.gif

Anyways, i'm kinda picky about what kind of hmong songs i listen too. I don't like the really fobby/htt sounding songs, but i LIKE to listen to hmong songs. I wish more musicians these days would sing in hmong instead of english because, quite frankly, they sound better in hmong. I think the pronunciation or accent of something get's to me even though they sound fluent. sad.gif

Btw, anyone seen one of the sounder's new mv yet? It's quite surprisingly pretty good. smile.gif

HEY! I'm Hmong and I LOVE the songs. My siblings think I'm weird because I sing and dance to Hmong music. But whatever, I'm not ashamed about it...they have really special meanings in their songs too. I don't really listen to the new current songs...or well let's say the urban ones. I love listening to those songs that still have that old, oriental beat. For example, songs such as Luj Yaj, Tsab Mim Xyooj, Suab Nag Lis, and Maiv Xis Muas are the typical kind that I listen to. I don't know...for some reason they sound more original. However, Suddenrush is an exception because their songs are just really catchy such as Mi Noog and Mi Nraug Hmoob (I'm soooo in love with this song btw.).

I usually get most of my music from ehmongmusic.com because it carries most of the songs that I listen to.

Hi everyone!
I'm currently attending UW-Madison and would like to invite everyone to come to this amazing event!
------
Hmong Human Rights Awareness Night

“BE AT THE GATE”
Saturday, March 20th
6:00 - 9:30 PM
Wisconsin Union Theater
800 Langdon St. Madison, WI 53706
http://hasa.rso.wisc.edu/HHR.html
FREE AND OPEN TO THE PUBLIC!

“When they started forcing people out of Na Pho [refugee camp], I was there at the gate to try to stop the forced repatriation. We saved some people’s lives but not everybody’s. But I was at the gate there. I’ve been at the gate at Tham Krabok. I’ve been at the gate at Ban Vinai. I have been at the gate at all these horrible places. It’s your turn to be at the gate. It’s your turn to be at the gate at Huay Nam Khao. Nong Khai. At the gate of those who are screaming for help in Laos. You don’t have to actually be at the gate. I was actually at the gate but figuratively, at the gate. You can be in Wisconsin and be at the gate. You can be at Washington D.C. and be at the gate. So I leave you with the words, let’s be at the gate to help those who need us.”

- Dr. Jane Hamilton-Merritt, author of Tragic Mountains: The Hmong, the Americans, and the Secret Wars for Laos, 1942-1992, at the HHR Speaker Forum, Dec. 5, 2009.

Through music, dance and visual media, we seek to address the Hmong humanitarian crisis in Thailand and Laos. Artists across the country arerallying together in support of human rights.

5,000 Hmong refugees have been repatriated from Thailand to Laos against international humanitarian law at the end of last year. The 158 Hmong refugees that have United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR) political refugee status have been deported as well. There is no transparency and no unfettered access to the resettled Hmong in Laos.

Come to be inspired, educate yourself and inform others about what you can doabout the situation.
