you can always try but because korea has become such a
superstar talent megahouse, itd be hard to compete with
native koreans who are picked up in korea by all the talent scouts.
you should try cuz i think ppl might be intrigued that someone
whos not korean can speak korean fluently enough to
make it in the korean entertainment industry .. good luck ^^

Yeah and futhermore, there are Korean gasoos who can't even speak Korean fluently (for example Jessica H.O.). So, being that you can speak fluent Korean, I say give it a try.

Han Kyung from Super Junior is Chinese and only started learning Korean after he got picked up by SM. I think your friends are BSing and you should stop being so trusting of everything they say.

If being a singer is your dream, you should go for it! I agree with jacinda (who's above me) about HanKyung from Super Junior. HanKyung may not be fluent in Korean yet, but he still stands out because of his talent. Since you say you can speak Korean fluently, I think you have a chance to be successful in the Korean entertainment industry if you stand out. So don't care what other people say. Just follow your heart and go for your dreams (despite the obstacles)!

So if you're not Korean, then what are you? Chinese, Japanese, Vietnamese, etc? If you wanna be in a group, I think you should try out for SM. I heard that SM is trying to find more Chinese youngsters (if they're still scouting them). Someone told me that SM went to Australia back in 2004 to scout for Chinese kids.

Daniel Hennehey said that it was really hard for him at first because there was a lot of prejudice against someone from mixed background.

I think it would be doable, but very very difficult.

I think that if you wanted to be a singer someowhere in Asia I would go Japan.

good question. i was wondering about the same thing actually.

i think it would be hard---but if you got the talent and can speak the language well then why not?

if that's what you're going for---good luck! ^^

i definately would take notice to a non korean in the korean entertainment business.----i myself am not korean...actually not asian.

i think that if something like that were to happen that'll be great. but that's my opinion.

Perry from YG Family is Japanese/Russian but speaks Korean and he had an album out when he first joined YG.

One of the guys from Super Junior is Chinese, and one of the girls in CSJH is Chinese.

And Charms1986
I believe the person you're thinking of is
A'merie

She's getting famous here in the states, but she started in Korea I believe.

A'merie is also half black / half Korean too but I don't thik she started out in Korea. O.o
