Wow is it a small class? Cause don't most uni/colleges consist of lectures where it's ur resposibility to attend but not graded in any way?

I hate to sound mean, but it is kind of your fault. =/
If it's a small class, you shouldn't be skipping.

Sorry to hear about it tho...

-edit-
you should talk to your dean or something tho
Please don't forget me. { I'm going away. }

But he said, "Slow down, slow down. Think it over, we've all got wretched closets, but silly girl pride kills more than Aids lately."
I said, "Come on, I thought it over. I don't wanna die here. I have no desire to get m♥rried."

is there anyway you can talk to a counselor or something and get them to reverse this?

caz that really bites.

he must feel pissed off that you can do so well w/o having to attend his class or something.
so we'll just let them hate
cause they can't stop us babe

I think you should go to the dean or whoever his supervisor is and make a complain.

it depends on the professor's policy... some drop your grade one letter if you miss a certain number of classes. in your case i guess you get dropped completely?

Man, that sucks.
But at my school if you miss a certain amount of hours, they can drop you. Regardless of your grade.
If you talk to your professor, you can be reinstated. Just make up some bs excuse about why you have been missing class, but say that you study your hardest (thats why you did so well on the midterm) and promise that you will come to class because all of your "issues" have been cleared up.

hmm, if it's a small class or one that has attendance requirement, then yeah, it's too bad for you...

try talking to the professor & see what he/she says...

Professor's have a policy on absences and they'll drop people regardless of their grades. Unless you had to miss class for dire reasons, then there was nothing unfair about it.

errrrrr........it's your own fault, I'm afraid to say. That's why you don't skip classes - 'cause some courses actually take attendance as assessment - so.....just for the sake of precaution, u dun skip classes. If the classes r boring, u can very well do your other work during that time - I do that - saves time and prevents u from missing anything important said during lectures.

I have a number of classes where if I miss over a certain amount, I fail. But if attendence was never mentioned as relevant to your course grade, then you should talk to the dean.

T_T why doesn't my professor drop me?
I need to be dropped so I can register for another class >_<

Skim over your syllabus see what it says im betting he factors attendance and participation into the grade.

Yup i agree, it depends on the policy, over in my uni, if you dont attend to x% of them you get thrown out of college, let alone one course.
But i feel bad what happened to you.

Yeah, the syllabus is where I would go. If there's something in the syllabus saying that class attendance is required/mandatory, then you're outta luck. I agree with what dunpingy said though, talk to the prof and see if you can remedy this.
