i don't think you can get out of it. you should take the TDGE classes (really easy) or the dance classes like jazz, ballet, and contemporary. those are always fun

I guess it makes sense that the common room is kinda empty at the beginning of the year.
what bands have played at UCSD in recent years?
I always hear about concerts by big bands every quarter, and smaller bands' concerts more often
haha yea usually by the middle of the year, most common rooms are filled with postures, magazine pages, news letters from RA, TRASH (man some suite's are soooo dirty), etc etc.
lets see this school year we have, lupe fiasco, i the mighty, eric hutchinson, death cab for cutie, ultraviolet sound, cold war kids, etc etc etc (wayyy too man to name). theres usually concert EVERY week, most free, the ones are RIMAC arena are not (and those are usually the big names). they are always fun to go to :]

i'm waiting for berkeley's results to come out, but i think SD is a more reasonable choice for me
also, UCI might be a slight possibility
ultimately tho, i'm set on SD :]
btw, http://muir.ucsd.edu/academics/generaled.shtml has the general ed requirements + courses for Muir
so u can use it to choose CC courses that meet those requirements^^
i'm majoring in physiology and neuroscience. (= thanks for the link, it helps a lot! i'm planning to take math and sociology [maybe psychology instead though, since my friend took it before], but i don't know if i want to take a third class yet. i passed the ap u.s. history exam with a 4 last year, and that knocked out 2 history classes, so awesome. xD

hehe same here, 4 on ap u.s.! xD
i'd take psych too, but my cc's psych credits don't transfer over ;_;
but i'm definitely planning to take a psych course at ucsd :]
i'm planning to take history at cc just to get it over with
hmm, do u know if cc counts toward ur gpa or just pass/fail?
there should be at least some out of state students there :]
i think erc would have a higher number of out of staters/int'l students, but i'm not completely sure
haha, welcome to ca xD

yeaa :[ its really hard to transfer between colleges
basically u need a really good reason and explanation for why transferring colleges will help u with ur major or career or something along those lines
and even then, ur chances arent too high =/

yea, it's really hard to switch colleges. ._." from the ucsd website itself: "Yes, after you complete the writing program and if you can demonstrate that switching to a different college will allow you to graduate with fewer academic quarters."

Is it worth it for me to take any AP tests? More specifically AP English Lit? I'm just afraid it won't count for much because of the strict writing program requirements.

AP English doesnt count for any writing classes. however, you HAVE to either get a 680 or high on your SAT 1 or SAT 2 lit OR get 3 or higher on AP OR pass the entrance writing exam to be able to take MMW2 and beyond. if you dont, you have to take SDCC. do go online to search for the details.
incoming freshmen:
ALWAYS do your research before hand, ucsd's website pretty much have everything. just search google if you cant find it through the main website. it has a lot more information than we can provide here.

I would say that Muir is pretty hard to get into in the first place. When I got my acceptance letter, I remember it saying quite a bit of people (forgot the statistics) applied but a lot did not get into that college. Fortunately Muir was my first choice and I got in.

I applied for Sociology because I had an interest for it, but now I might change my major into business later on.
How's the business program in ucsd?
I know there aren't a lot of courses :/ But I really want to go there.
