I'm moving off campus next year and was wondering what's a good apartment complex in the La Jolla/UTC area? I haven't done much research yet except for some craiglisting but so far the Venetian does not sound bad. Does anyone live at the Venetian? If you do, how is it? I really want to live in the La Jolla Palms because it looks so nice but after looking it up online it's so expensive.

I think every bathroom/shower in UCSD is separate -- the suites are separate and the bathrooms are in the suites, so yeah. That doesn't mean that no guy will ever not go to your bathroom though

I live at Towers at Costa Verde. It's nice. I considered the Venetian and even went to look at it, but something about it turned me off. I think it was because it was after I'd already seen Towers and was pretty much set towards living there, so I was being nitpicky. I hated that there was no covered parking and the ceiling was considerably lower compared to Towers, which made it look tiny compared to the apartment I'd seen at Towers. But it's a pretty nice place -- the best thing is that it's right in front of the Arriba shuttle stop so getting to school is very easy.

I live on the second floor It's probably because I live in a one-room apartment -- I know kids who live on top floors because they get the 3 bedroom apartment and share it between 5-6 people. One thing that kind of sucks about Towers is that there aren't many college students, so the few that live here get crap for being college students. Like I'm probably the quietest resident here but people still automatically assume that I have parties and get drunk every weekend Even the managers treat college students differently (they're super nice to my parents when they come over though ), but it's something that I've become used to.

I'm taking BIMM101 in SS1 and BIBC103 in SS2. After that, I'll be done with labs forever! (undergraduate anyway) When I was enrolling for BIMM101, I kept refreshing schedule of classes and it was nerve-wracking to watch all the spots get filled up when it still wasn't my registration time. I was literally the last person to get in the class -- talk about stress. Now there are 81 people waitlisted

I just looked up who was teaching these classes and definitely not recommend taking those classes together in session 1 I've heard from so many friends that Soowal is a difficult teacher but its not impossible to get an A in her class. You have to work super hard, like pay attention in class and make sure to read the questions carefully on her exams. Since I have no idea who you're BILD 3 teacher is than I have no input. But I would seriously break it up and take BICD 100 in session 1 and BILD 3 in the second one. So you can focus your attention on one subject at a time.

Financial Aid only gives 1,200 for taking 2 classes, which is not enough at all!

Two classes are definitely doable during summer session, at the same time. It just depends on the class. BILD 3 is not difficult, but I wouldn't recommend taking a time-consuming class with it (i.e. Genetics). However, BILD 3 + PHYS 1 series is doable, or something like bild 3 + math 10 series is doable in 1 summer session.

I'm taking two poli sci classes over summer session 1 and it shouldn't be a problem since it's poli sci... lol

AzN_cHiC89 - oh damn you work at tapX too? Not that I do, but I know someone else *cough* twin *cough* who works at regents location. Oh man I haven't gotten a drink from UCSD tapX in a while. haha.. well i just checked out the campus as a newly admitted freshman at WARREN! (WOOT). the basic outline of the whole area is kind of trashy compared to another school i like, uc irvine, but i noticed that warren's college and dorms are MUCH nicer than the other schools so i'm pretty satisfied.

there seems like a lot of asian/white/etc NERDS everywhere! hahah.. i love it xD

Yeah, Sungod is coming up soon. You'll be able to get your ticket at your college reslife or something. Well, that's what AS did last year when they disturbuted tickets. You'll probably get more info when it gets closer or something. But for more info on sungod you can look it up online. Just type in AS Sungod 2009 on google and you'll find a website. There's info on facebook too.
