also, to anyone who skipped to chem6b, was it hard to transition? how much did u review over the summer? do u have any tips/suggestions?
sorry for all my questions..and thanks in advance!
ok 4 on a chem test may be good but i strongly recommend not skipping 6A. the 6 series are notorious for being a difficult course. and most importantly, MED SCHOOLS WANT TO SEE A YEAR OF LOWER DIVISION OF CHEM. actually, i think you have to take chem 6a honors b/c u passed out of chem 6A. Honors is much more difficult but they won't let u take regular chem 6A since u passed out. it happend to my friend too but u can switch out of honors after 6A. so you're forced to take it if ure pre-med. (well chem 6A HONORS not regular)

darn it...i shouldnt have even taken the test >.< aghh i wanted a 3..not a 4..should've gotten stuff wrong on purpose..
hmm, can't i just take chem 6a but not get the credits for it? or should i take the honors one? are the textbooks the same? T_T gotta buy two txtbks...
thx for the advice tho!
edit// oh, and if i take the honors one should i wait to buy the textbook for the non-honors one? cuz i found a good deal...T_T
and did ur friend switch to regular chem 6b after taking honors chem 6a?

or should i wait for my class schedule and then try to find books online? or..something like that lol
does the list of books i need come WITH the schedule? i'm so confused hahaha
cuz i know that bookstore's textbooks are incredibly expensive...and buying them online would probably be cheaper...
so i don't know what to do
is there even enough time after we get our schedules to buy the books online? >.<

i just checked the schedule of classes...and for mmw1, most of the classes are FULL and WAITLISTED...
but that's already before any freshmen have enrolled in their classes
how does this work? because MMW is required for ERC students, and yet most of the MMW1 classes are already full? i'm really confused right now xD
are they going to open up more classes or something? and how can they already be full? (unless the upperclassman are choosing to take it right now....) o.0
dont worry that 6 limited seats are for upper classmen who couldnt or didnt take mmw first years, so of course they are filled. they've been filled since i registered...2 months ago.

definitely find your textbooks online (facebook, amazon, valorbooks, etc. half is actually not that great btw) - ALWAYS cheaper than bookstore. (if you need mmw books & reader or calc 10 series book, i'm your girl ;]). but you have to get course readers at the set price on campus either with university readers online or at the soft reserve. the book list is online under classes / waitlisted classes (something like that). you have more than a month to get your books, dont worry.

I'm not sure about upper divs but they have a good amount of lover div books. I think the only way for you to get the books is to show financial need. So this program is only good for those who filed for fafsa and show need.

tysm for those answers
i may definitely be taking you up on that offer (for MMW books
btw, what do you mean by "half is actually not that great"
do you mean books sold at half price? >.<
yeah, i heard about course readers....those are the extra notes things, right?
so every quarter, we enroll in our next set of classes pretty early then?
thanks for answering all these questions everyone =)

a website i think is really helpful is campusbooks.com
it compares the lowest used and new prices of multiple websites: amazon, half, bookbyte, etc xD
also check out facebook marketplace like the person above said ^^

lol
heard that he was a great teacher and all, but that his tests weren't worth it
i know which teacher i want, it's just that all of the classes are filled
btw...how do they get all (if not most) of the freshmen enrolled for MMW if there aren't any classes open? -.-
jordan's not so bad, i got a relatively easy A. take him--he's quite entertaining! :]
i have MMW books (i'm completely done with mmw AHHHH finally) so if anyone needs them or readers let me know.

the book is made especially for the ucsd writing course so you have to buy it at the ucsd bookstore

They wont let you take chem 6a if you passed out it. my other friend got a 5 on the AP test and was forced to take the honors series for 6A/B/C cuz he passed out of the whole series. so you're forced to take the Honors class. it's just one quarter and Hoeger (the prof) curves low although his tests are CRAZY... haha i know three people who took Chem 6A honors and they are all really smart and they said it was the hardest class ever.. but yeah you're foced to.
the textbooks are different. don't buy the books at the bookstore! find people who already took the class and buy it off of them for a cheaper price or on amazon. buying it off of people is better though cuz they usually make u pay less. i know plenty of people who are done with their regular 6 series course book and honors course book.
my friend (and his other friend) readily switched into regular 6b. med schools don't know the difference between honors and regular. they will only see that it's a lower div chem class.

DO NOT BUY THEM AT THE BOOKSTORE. THEY RIP YOU OFF. try amazon! and im sure you have time cuz u dont need ur books right away when school starts. plus you get welcome week before school starts.

I completely forgot to send my SAT scores and only sent in my ACT scores. So I chose the rush delivery option so send in my SAT scores exactly on July 15th and it should have been delivered at least by today. But still on myapplication page, it's not saying 'requirement met'. Should I call the admissions office? and could I get revoked for this?!?

half.com (ebay) is really not that great ^^"
hm course readers are either extra notes or extra readings (a lot of them...).
you enroll around 6th, 7th week of the quarter in accordance to your credits (more you have, earlier you enroll). your first enrollment time in august is completely random.
random but i've seen other students going onto soompi during class haha =]

don't worry so much
if they got it by today, they still need a week or so to update your information
there are thousands of students that are in the system and they are busy getting things ready for freshmen enrollment, so they're not going to make your SAT scores a priority right now
it says on the site (somewhere) that if it gets sent in...allow them a couple weeks to update
