I had Johnson for 6A and 6B. I would have taken her for 6C too if she'd taught it. She's a really great professor, but it's kind of hard to get an A in her class imo. It's easy to get a B but hard to get an A.

haha wow you guys worry too much! the first year (or two) is pretty much GEs, theres only so many classes you can choose from. i took 5 classes first two quarters freshman year, i got through just fine. i think counseling is pretty pointless unless you want to finish early, double major, study abroad, etc etc. its really easy figuring out what you should be taking to fulfill all the requirements in time. the professors really depends on yourself, most highly rated professors i've taken are just okay. nothing special really. just pray you have a good TA.

I was wondering if anyone knew for the Perkins Master Promissory Note if I could just mail it to the address they provided or do I have to take it to Student Account Services in person.

Nvm, lol I figured it out.

But anyways, whoever is doing the soompi meet invite I would like to join!

does anyone know who the best teachers are for Chem 6A, and Math 10B?
and how difficult would a final be in a fine arts class like a Popular Music class focused on the Beatles? lol.

I'm applying for a work study job at the UCSD bookstore and taking 4 classes this quarter. I've pretty much got my entire schedule planned out (what days to work, my classes/hours of classes are pretty much in the AM) I'll probably be working 3-4 four hour shifts (if they let me, not sure if the job shifts and hours are flexible)

anyone work and study at the same time? How is it/do you have any free time?

btw.. Anyone incoming freshmen Warren? (:

I'm in Warren! :] Seems like there are very few people from Warren in this thread.

Right now I still don't know what I'm taking for my fourth class...

Do you guys already know your dorm number and roommate things yet?

For Warren (don't know about the other colleges), we don't find out until August 28th. But now I can't find that exact date anywhere and I don't remember where I saw it, so maybe I'm just misremembering.

I fell terribly sorry and heartbroken, but I want to inform you all, about the passing of my dear friend, your fellow UCSD student,
Arlene Tjandrawansa.

She died in a car crash in Irvine on Friday the 21st (http://cbs5.com/localwire/22.0.html?type=b...TAL-CRASH-11-42), she was 19 years old, and just a upcoming sophomore at UCSD.

She was a loving friend and I'm sadden to say that we have lost a brilliant student and a fellow college mate at UCSD....

There will be a candle-light memorial service for Arlene tomorrow the 24th (please take a look at the facebook page below), at library walk, if you happened to know her, or maybe even a friend of hers, please do attend.

http://www.facebook.com/event.php?eid=1170...1733&ref=mf

Please pray for her and her family in getting through this tragic accident that we hope will never happen to anyone again.

Rest in Peace Arlene, you will be greatly missed.

What? Don't believe that nonsense. The Beatles class ridiculously easy. I had a total of two homework assignments all quarter and they took a combined 20 minutes to do. Never showed up for lecture, never showed up for discussion, didn't know anything about Beatles beforehand, skimmed the Wikipedia entry on them two hours before the test and got a B+.

Really though, it's a shame I didn't pay more attention to that class, it's one of the best ones offered. I discovered the magic of the Beatles and added 5 gigs of music to my iPod.
