I've been meaning to share pics from the 9-27-09 UCSD meet. People enjoyed it based on all the feedback they posted on facebook. I'm putting these up without permission =X so if anyone wants me to take them down, let me know.

I don't know if the colleges are major-wise..
I'm an econ major and i'm in Warren haha. Only 2 out of 10 of my suitemates are engineering majors. tongue.gif Though a lot of engineering majors are in Warren, so are a lot of others.. a lot of Bio also.

I guess it really depends on the dorms/GE's.
Easiest GE's: (easiest -> hardest)Muir, Sixth, Warren, Marshall, Revelle, ERC
Dorms: (best->worst) ERC, Warren, Muir, Marshall, Revelle, Sixth

sixth's GEs are really not that easy. they are along the same line as revelle....

Warren dorms suck! D: Our triples were built for doubles. It's so cramped in there and the poor unfortunate soul who gets the loft bed (me sad.gif) really gets the short end of the stick.

id say go for muir regardless of the major because it has the least amount of required GEs.
people say dorms are crap and look like jail cells and whatever, but it has the thickest walls, which translates to more privacy and the ability to crank the volume on the stereo once in a while. also if u live anywhere above 5th floor you can see the sunset every single night, which is a plus. the beach is a VERY short walk. i went every other day for the first few weeks of school and continued to go often throughout the year last year.

the only thing thats bad about muir is SUMMIT IS CLOSED damnit i want them smoothies and phillycheeses

now that i live in warren, i just sit around and enjoy the canyon view(and girls) yay

Yeah, ERC GE's are pretty hardcore, but it's really good for a lot of reasons.
However, I have to admit that Muir is a good package deal since it's close to everything and next year their eateries should be done with renovations. smile.gif

Eh, I'd probably say
GE (easy -> hard): Muir, Warren, Marshall, Sixth, Revelle, ERC
Dorms (best -> worst): ERC, Muir, Marshall, Revelle, Sixth, Warren

Muir kind of sucks this year because there's no place to eat at -- sucks for people who live there x_x

Warren has the worst dining hall too. Haha. Man, the only good thing going for us is that our GEs are pretty easy.

i don't think sixth's GEs are that bad. revelle had way more GEs than sixth.

hahaa the only reason i picked erc before i went to sd was because it had the least science and math and then i came across the dreaded MMW however, i actually really liked mmw and thought it helped me learn much more about the world in general and i'm really glad i was able to take those classes (if you like history, international studies then i suggest you pick erc regardless of your major)

and hopefully geisel has it so i can just check it out or w/e >.<

there's a photocopy machine at the library right?

heyy you're in heyser's class? I'm in it too. can't believe I didn't know the professor's name til today. LOL

i'd say go for Muir [unless ur engineering, go for Warren] because we have the easiest GE's and the biggest dorms xD
and the sunset is soooo beautiful from the upper floors [at least from Tioga's upper floors]!! happy.gif
our dorms may not look as "nice" to some people, but our walls are reallyyy thick. i can blast music in my room and people can't really hear it. smile.gif ERC dorms are nice, but their walls are extremely thin!! and, u can always buy posters and things to decorate your room smile.gif

although Summit [Muir's dining hall] is closed this year, it'll be open by next fall smile.gif it's supposed to be one of the best dining halls. Marshall and ERC also have good dining halls, but i personally hate Revelle's dining halls..i haven't eaten at the other ones yet, so i don't know how good they are :/

^ actually, i think that ERC's dorms are the biggest >.<
and we also have beach/sunset views xD
ERC is also more modern and we tend to have a lot of activities going on every week smile.gif
if you're into parties, then there's always a few parties each week either in I-house or in the apartments or other dorms.
the walls are thin, but it's not too bothersome (most of the time) xD

a couple of people from muir have come over and checked out our dorms and said that they were really nice
and the closet size is incredible...hahaha

but yeah, muir has the easiest GEs >.<

revelle...i don't know about the dorms or w/e, but their buildings look really old <.< >.>
warren is most likely the same, but it's not as bad smile.gif
sixth...i haven't really been to much, but it's the college with the oldest buildings (or so i've heard/read)
marshall...i went to their apartments last night and they were kinda small...i'm not too sure about their dorms..but i know that if you are in overflow you go to revelle...(which happens to most marshall freshman)

^Revelle's dorms are by far the oldest. I'd hate to live on a fourth floor in Revelle with no elevator or anything X_X Sixth is sort of old; it was where the old ERC used to be until they built a new "area" for ERC.

Summit always had the best breakfast imo. Their omelets were so yummy. I actually quite like Plaza lol -- but it's super unhealthy (tons of fried foods, etc). I've only eaten at ERC once and I thought the food was just okay. Marshall is pretty good; I ate at OVT twice this quarter (I don't eat at school a lot because I live off-campus) already laugh.gif And you're not missing out; Warren and foodworx aren't that great. I liked foodworx's sandwiches and pizzas; I lived in Sixth so I ate there the most.

^ a lot of people from ERC just eat at cafe v all the time
so we never really go out to the other dining halls to eat...

we think that it's pretty decent food
some times it's REALLY good
though, i wouldn't really recommend the pasta (it's hit or miss)
there's a lot of variety though smile.gif
and the breakfasts there are DELICIOUS

especially the omelette and the bobcat sandwiches biggrin.gif
