Is anyone here in Muir?

If so, which MUIR 50 TAs do you guys recommend?

Thanks!

Anyone freaked out about finals? My metabolic biochemistry final is in less than 12 hours and I am anxious to say the least... I guess it's sort of good to have the hardest class over with first, but I might burn out right after it... +_+

i participated summer bridge in summer of 07. i seriously had no idea what i was getting into. honestly, at first i didn't like it. but towards the end it was great. you're introduced to the resources around campus and what not. you also meet a whole bunch of people before school starts. i would say it is a good experience. plus, you have the chance to earn some credits.

I was in summerbridge 2005...it was awesome...lucky 2006 summerbridgers got free fujitsu laptops!...you meet a lot of people, 8 units p/np...i live with roommates that were all in my suite from summerbridge...dont miss out on it..not too much people hear about it..the thing is though..you have to go to seminars during the year which i find it a waste of time..but overall i think if you dont have anything to do, want free food and rooming for one month..go for it...the people you meet there will last for a longtime through college

Speaking of the Summer OASIS program, I heard it was really fun and worth the experience. I never got an invite/mail from them and I know you need an access code to get the application. Does anyone know if I can submit an application for a chance to get into the OASIS program even though I wasn't one of the 'invited'? (& how that would be possible?)

It seems like a very enriching program to get one to slowly transition into college life! smile.gif

you can always call them and ask for the access code.

Retake it, unless the course isn't offered anymore. Although the class with the D will allow you to replace the grade, but the C+ class will not. Although if you apply to med school, I think all grades including retaken grades are averaged, but I am not exactly sure.

Damn, I got a D in a class I never attended and I never went to my required section, so that sucked. :[ I couldn't even retake it because the professor left and the subject is not offered anymore! AUGH, the Music Department and academic advisers from my college couldn't even help because I have to take the course with that SAME EXACT subject. tears.gif

I think I'm the only one of my friends that failed the UC AWPE. Am I going to be behind if I take SDCC 1 Fall quarter while everyone is taking CAT 1?

not necessarily...i advised you to enroll (i hope it's not too late) to a community college over the summer..take an english class that satisfy the UC AWPE and pass it..then you don't have to take SDCC 1..
if you don't want to take tha route, you can still take CAT 1 while taking SDCC 1..however..in order to move on to CAT 2, you have to pass the placement test..

i definitely agreed with clauric, i didn't pass the test either, so just take a class a community college. But, if you score higher than a 680 on the writing section on the SAT or got a 3 or higher on your AP English test, than you do not have to take SDCC 1. If you can't take a class at CC, I recommend Rob Williams as an instructor for SDCC. He's really easy and good. :]

SDCC 1 itself is easy, it's just a waste of time, really. My friend had to take it. My boyfriend failed the placement test, but fortunately he got a 3 on the AP English Lit test. biggrin.gif

Hi guys, I'm going to be a freshman and I'm taking the math placement test this Saturday. Is it something that I should be really, really, worried about? I only started to study last week and I have yet to take the diagnostic test. Someone at Davis told me their's was really easy and it was similar to the CAHSEE.

I didn't take any of the placement tests because I got over 680 for writing on my SAT I and I passed both AP Calculus AB and BC. But if I failed the SDCC test, I don't know if I could have passed the class the first time around haha... One of my friends took that class 3 times or something like that -.-

Yeahh I am taking that test tomorrow (it's weird because I've never taken any tests at night~lol), but I heard that it's similiar to the questions from SAT I, isn't CAHSEE a little too easy?
Can anyone answer that question?
thanks!
