Once you get over 5 megapixels, megapixels are irrelevant. It's not how many megapixels it can push, but the actual image quality of photos. There are a couple more to consider when choosing a camera.
-What kind of processing chip does it use?
-How fast can it shoot? or flash?
-How portable do you want it to be? (the more portability you get, the more expensive, and poorer picture quality you'll get)
-brand? (Canon or Nikon is reputable. Sony blows for most parts)
I have Canon Powershot A610 and I'm very happy with it. The image quality is excellent for a point-and-shoot cameras. (I'll need SLRs to beat the image quality of A610) It however is little big and heavy, so carrying it inside pocket is little hard.

Really? I always thought that megapixels was for the quality. O_O OMG. Thank you guys so much! It's helped alot. Okay, I don't need a 6+ megapixel one anymore.. I was looking at a 5.0 megapixel Canon Powershot camera lately.
By the way,
if you need memory cards for your cameras, you should PM me! ^__^ I'm selling two.. a 128MB one and a 32MB one.
