When ever I place a torrent file into this client, it would automatically start downloading, but I don't want it to yet. I would like to start downloading the torrent myself manually. Is there any way for it not to do this? I looked inside all the options already, but couldn't find anything that would disable this action.

what version do you have? the newest one is 2.4.0.2 (other than the beta version). it has this option before starting the download, to save it where you want and pick what you want to download from that .torrent.
other than getting the new version, you can also pause the download.
