i use videora convertor and works all the time. i also use this to put videos onto my cell. its not that bad. its thin ^^ and remeber ipod is a music player not a video player.. if you want a video player get something else. both vision m and ipod are music player. video playback is just extra.

i dont know why you have posted this but .. the ipod is smaller and thiner.. BUT.. the battery life is VERY VERY POOR.. Apple have seriously fubar'd they batteries.. =/
the zen vision:m is user friendly.. "drag and drop" videos.. a nice feature. maybe a little thicker but i dont mind/... asl ong as the battery life is good

um, video playback is also like, another hundred or so bucks, so if ur dishing out the cash, it better be worth it. If i wanted to get just an MP3 player, i wouldn't have spent 400 bucks on the ipod video. what i was saying is that i should have gotten the vision because i wouldn't have to spend hours upon hours of converting video files that are already in DIVX format.

actually, even though your videos are already in .avi , won't you still have to change it cuz of resolutions and fps?

and i thought converting to ipod format is easy.. i googled and found many convertors..

yea, it plays many formats but you gotta make sure it's formatted to run better, or else the vision:m will choke on too high res files.

using free converters for ipod doesnt give the best video quality. for the best, you need to purchase something else from apple for quicktime, or so I've heard.

Same here.

One of the best thing I have ever bought. I use it very frequently.

Just remember to charge it frequently if you're going to use it for both music and videos. I always charge it when I'm inside my car.

buying anything apple or sony, you will have to convert something because they don't meet industry standard. They try to make their own..
It can be good or bad but usually its just annoying.

but the downside of the vision is i heard it freezes when you are watching videos and listening to the music and that the screen isnt really viewable at certain angles but i guess the longer battery life and easy vid conversion makes its a bit more appealing

i might get the vision if i can get my money back from creative(cuz i don't want my zen micro anymore). dunno if that'll work though. still, the 30 dollar college student discount for the video ipod is tempting even though i'm not an ipod fan =/
