you might find Love Contract is boring but i liked it. The plot is interesting and i really liked Arial's acting in it. Also the ending has pissed some people off in the past so if you're going to watch it, watch it with an opne mind. YOU KNOW WHAT?? The fact that Mike He is in it should be reason enough for you to watch it okay!? lol~ jk.

Green Forest My Home <-- i highly recommend this one even though its ratings weren't as good as others like PTF

Well i don't watch alot of dramas these days but the last one i watched was IT STARTED WITH A KISS (and i really think thats like probably the only TAIWANESE idol drama that i like) But yeah i TOTALLY 110% recommend that...you will fall in love with joe cheng and ariel lin! and jiro wang <3

anyways, umm i guess if you like MIKE HE JUN XIANG alottttt then i guess you will want to watch EXPRESS BOY because he's in there althought i stopped watching it after 3 episodes cause i thought it was bad

MARS - it has zaizai from F4 in it and BigS (which now they are together in real life) but yeah it's more of like a drama drama with no comedy in it.

UMMM thats basically the only taiwanese dramas that i like...but if you want more of a romantic dramas...try
Qing Shen Shen Yu Mun Mun <--this China drama with Vicki Zhao and Alex Su in it...it's REALLY GOOD!!! it's really lovey dovey and everything and it's sad. it's not the typical idol drama like Meteror Garden though.

well, I'm currently dling and uling "outsiders/fighting fish" (T-drama) for someone and I skimmed through the epis, it looks very promising and at the dolphin bay...and for K-dramas, you may wanna check out "sweet spy", "full house" (if you haven't seen it), "my girl", "goong", and sassy girl chun-yang...oh, yeah, save the last dance with Eugene and Jisung.

^ I personally didn't really enjoy The Outsiders.

The only Taiwanese drama that i actually really liked was It Started With A Kiss ( but it's either you love it or hate it )

Outsiders is a good drama. im not just sure about the 2nd installment though :/

anyway, i haven't watched Tw dramas.. but i think 'Love at the Forbidden city' or sth like that is a great drama too. if you like a drama to deal with dancing and such! i got hooked by that drama.

after watching a chinese/taiwanese drama for the first time (mars, which is one of the best dramas i've ever watched in my opinion), i've become hooked, and so i was wondering if anyone could provide me a list, however short it may be, of the best chinese/taiwanese dramas out there? i'm currently in the process of watching at the dolphin bay too, which is another drama that i think is the one of the best out there.

also, besides ebay, does anyone know where i can buy the english subtitled dvds of these dramas and/or the soundtracks too? yesasia only carry ones w/o the english subtitles, and dvdasian have only a select few. i'd really like to own a copy of mars and at the dolphin bay.

i personally like mainland shows like
da zhai men
yong zheng wang chao
jing hua yan yun
this is kinda weird since i'm still a teenager, and most teenagers like idol dramas, but i really like the China's rich culture and the history behind each drama, it is really fascinating to me.

i really don't like taiwanese idol shows like
mars (way too psycho, the psychoness...brrr, zai zai was great though, can see his acting improving)
dolphin bay(seemed too much like a krn drama)
started with a kiss(which is a quite popular show)
devil beside me(mike he is soo cute in this, i didn't even pay attention to the plot, just drooled the entire time, although i did thought that the plot was way complicated for a 13-ep show, and the couple kissed too much*although sweet*, it was like 2 per ep).

i thought the first --meteor garden-- was ok, but got bored after like the 5th episode, so i just had my mom telling me summaries of each ep. the more recent one i kinda liked was --prince becomes frog--. i thought it was funny, but the jokes got old after a while, so i only skipped around while watching the show. both the actress and the actor performed superbly in my opinion, esp ming dao, i just couldn't connect the cynical (forgot his name) with the innocent, sweet (forgot his name too...guo guo?...|||).

if you have a strong foundation of chinese, i would suggest the above mainland shows b/c my friends who are ABC reported to me that they cannot understand the show at all. but if you are just looking for pure entertainment, then i guess some of the above idol drams shows would suit you well.

i do think that tw idol dramas has awesome music. usually i just listen to the OST's w/o watching the actual thing

Mainland Chinese:

Fu Hua Bei Hou - Starred Lu Yi and Song Hong Lei. Was sooo good. I like the relationship he had with his mom. First he hated her, then got his ass kicked for trying to help her.

Zhou Guo Hua Ji - Probably the closest thing to an idol drama the mainland will ever have. The main actresses were soooo pretty. If I have time I'll "screencap" it and maybe people can tell me what else they've been in. Some of the guys were hot too. It was about a group of friends and how they grow apart and start new lives of their own.

Jing Fen Shi Jia- Starred Chen Kun and Liu Yi Fei. Lots of pretty people in this one too. I liked the portrayal of the household. It showed the flaws of these pampered people, who may be nice, but never gave a thought to working.

A HK Story - a series made for the return of HK to the mainland. I liked it, but I was young then so I don't know if I would now. It was about two families who were rivals, but then their kids fell in love, like Romeo and Juliet.

There were also three that I just can't remember the names of:

One stars Zhao Wei in a remake of another old Chinese series.

Another was about this guy who was nice, turned mean because of the unfairness of society, and ended up getting some sort of STDs cause some ho whose husband employed him liked him. It was set in the early 1900s.

And another was about a famous prostitute. The actress was really good.


Taiwanese:

It started with a Kiss - probably the only TW drama I could stand because the rest have pretty bad acting. Joe was hot in this.

Meteor Garden - never saw this, but I liked Hana Yori Dango, so I figure it should be similar.




...so If you are going for something that will make you think and is more serious, go for the mainland dramas. If you are going for something that's purely entertainment go for TW.

I hate Hong Kong dramas. So you won't find any recs from me there.
