You're definately taking a risk buying this Fujitac that's for sure. I can't be sure, but this camera appears to be made in china so it might end up being really good for the price. Whether it's good enough for you depends on how often you intend to use your camera and whether there's certain features you think you might need.
One of the things that worries me about this camera is that it doesn't list what the optic zoom is on it. It says 8x digital zoom which is useless since you can do that in photoshop. Think cropping a picture, that's essentially what it's doing. Optical zoom gives you detailed, sharp pictures of faraway scenary. The Canon you mentioned can do 4x optical which is more than good enough for the average user.
Another thing that worries me is that it appears to be using it's own type of battery instead of standard AA's. Getting a camera that uses AA's is very important if you plan on taking alot of pictures while on vacation at some place where you can't recharge batteries (like camping or something). And when I say alot, I mean like over 50-100 pictures during the whole trip. Remember that battery has to have enough juice to keep running whenever you need it. Keep in mind using the flash, any zoom functions and the LCD screen all suck up alot of power and hence reduces the number of pictures you can take on one battery charge.
The only other thing that worries me is there's no website for this company so if you've got a problem or something, you don't have anywhere to turn to for help.
So anyways it really depends on how you gonna be using the camera. The camera's got a good price and the rest of the stuff seems good tho. It's your call.

i think it'd save you a lot of grief and regret in the end if you get the canon since it's so much more reliable than this one... since you're getting it overseas the warranty would become void so if it broke then you wouldn't be able to do anything about it.
