im assuming that city college is another name for community college and my parents doesn't want me to go there. they think that i would slack off or the teachers won't be as good.
my friend told me that one of her brother's friend who used to attend a csu transfer in ucd this year. im hoping that i get to do that too.
btw what are some tips on writing the personal statement? i think this was my downfall last year because my ps wasn't strong enough.

you should try to convince your parents otherwise, because seriously, your chances of getting into a UC from a CSU is lower than if you tried to transfer from a community college/city college. you'd probably need like, a super high GPA, EC, good personal statement, etc. when you apply, you're put behind the community college students and other UC transfers, i believe. and i think you need....60 credits? google it.
as for the personal statement, try coming up with a good opener to hook the reader in. i don't really have much advice for writing it except to try to make it as personal as you can, i guess.

Not all chem classes start at 7:30 AM but there are a few that do. I took 7:30 AM lecture for CHE 2A and 2B. It was freezing during winter quarter but I had Enderle as my professor for 2A and he is amazing! If you ever see him teaching a class, take it! You will not regret it. Best chem professor ever!
Bio classes are really hard to get into if you're a freshman. They just started teaching the BIS 2 series after getting rid of the 1 series so it's mostly sophomores and juniors taking it right now. The waitlist is crazy and there can be a 25 person waiting list for a section that only has 24 people. There were just a few sections left for BIS 2B when I had my pass a couple days ago. Unfortunately I had to choose between 7:30 AM lab or 6:30 PM lab. I chose the latter because there is no way I'm taking the bus at 7 AM in winter.
To change your major, you first have to get a change of major form. You would then have to ask your current major advisor to sign it and also get the signature of your new major advisor and return the form to the college of your new major.

I'm in Chem 2A, but I have Enderle so hopefully it's worth it
as for bio, I actually got the last seat for one of the classes (for 2A). but the teacher doesn't seem that great...Gerhart I think it was? hmm. good thing I took bio before lol, hopefully that should help...

Definitely take the 7:30 AM CHE 2A with Enderle
Oh I have Gerhart for BIS 2A right now. She's ok I guess. Her lectures are very long though. Each of her lectures is seriously at least 50-70 slides. There is no textbook, just one online that she's written herself, which can be either a good thing or a bad thing depending how you look at it. The BIS 2 series is a lot different than your typical Bio class, so rather than just memorizing things like organelles and cell structures it's more like the abstract concepts about the origins of life like what is needed for a cell to function and how the first cells likely appeared. I really need to start studying for bio midterm on Monday

I'm doing ok right now in BIS 2A. I got a B on the first midterm. The average was only about a 60%. Hopefully I'll do better on Monday's midterm

She was still as... bad of a teacher, but, okay overall.

She hasn't said anything about it but she probably will curve the class at the end of the quarter

There is that "Life" textbook or whatever it is from the bookstore, but it's only supplementary and not required reading. She posts up drafts of her own textbook that she's writing online which we do have to read. It's pretty much the same material as her lectures though...
