If you have questions about DHC, I can answer those, but not about integrated studies and what not.

But I was wondering,
I know that renting an apartment outside is cheaper, but let's say if I choose not to take a dorm in UCD, how will that affect my financial aid? Since my aids supposedly cover my dorm money

Honestly I have no idea, my only advice for you is to contacting the financial aid people as soon as possible.

the thing is, i've already payed the $100 for the SIR & $500 for the reservation at residence halls.. i'm already kinda stuck to UCD, financially and mentally. do you think that they'll take into consideration the fact that the statement of legal residence was late?? if so, fml.

i think you might get extra/excess aid, actually. when i was filling out my FAFSA last year, i put "on-campus"/dorming down, but when it came time to fill out housing apps, my friend and i just opted not to since we were late and we kinda wanted to just rent an apartment anyway. i received refund checks this year. so yeah. i think you'll get extra -- i won't say I'M SURE because every person's financial standing is unique.
if you're renting for sure, check out places ASAP -- places are taken really fast.

Renting shouldn't affect your aid. I'm a freshman and I live in an apartment but I still got the same amount of aid.

SO 2 years of family plan is up in summer, i was wondering how is AT&T's service at davis?
especially Segundo and Social Science department area.
if the service for AT&T is not so great in the area, what do you suggest?
Btw, what laptop do you use?
i'm still trying to find a laptop = = very indecisive when it comes to technology
and meal plan, i'm so lost on this. what do you have? 180 or 150? i think i'll be eating at school most of the time, plus i'm vegeterian, maybe i'll cook if i can in dorm...?

AT&T is decent, it's about as good as anything else on campus. It's not 100% reliable, but it'll get you through most of the time. They seem to have improved the network recently.
For laptops, I use a HP, I seem to like it, it's pretty reliable, it's decent sized, and they look fairly spiffy. Some of my other friends have had problems with their internet cards breaking, but, for the first year in the dorms, you don't need to worry about that, because all the internet is wired through ethernet. But, they're pretty much all good, just don't get a netbook, unless you have a main computer. Netbooks are just... ugh.
And for the food situation, for most people, 150 is more than enough. Too much of the dining commons is never a good thing, and people get tired of the food there fairly quickly. Sounds like you're living in segundo, andI think you've made a good choice, they have the biggest dining commons on campus, and (I think) the best one. (Then again, I used to work there) The dining commons always have some vegeterian options, and usually vegan also, so as long as you don't get *too* picky, you should be able to find something to eat. As for cooking in the dorms, I feel safe to say that aside from microwaves, and the occasional water heater, or rice cooker, nobody "cooks" at the dorms, the kitchens are just so small and cramped that you can't do anything that resembles cooking reliably.
