Chinese 1....did u sign up yet? Don't know who the professor will be but Chang, Meng and Liu usually teach the lower division(although I passed out of lower div ) with the upper div professors sometimes taking it if there's no one else. But sure! I wouldn't mind tutoring! I'll either have really early office hours MW or late afternoon hours MTWR.
Biochem....GROSS...LOL....I avoid any science/math class. I cringe at the thought of them. Liberal arts for me man...lol.
I wanted to add another CHN class during pass 2 but I won't have the time. I'd be at the max units for L&S. Plus, it'll be hard with classes, tutoring, studying and work.

I think the prof's name is Wang. That's the section I was looking at signing up for. I can't sign up for anything until pass2 basically, my times always suck and the freshman don't make it any better.
So do you tutor at Dutton or something?
BTW. Science > Liberal Arts

Haha...everyone's entitled to their own opinions. I may suck at science and math, but I'd like to see you write 13 page papers on Nietzche and Wagner or on legislative assembly...HAHA..
Wang...ahh...guy professor I think. Think he started teaching at Davis last quarter. Checked the open courses list and CHN BL's only open Good luck getting pass 2!
I tutor in Olson =)

I've always had good luck with wait-listing during pass2. If I don't wait-list I usually end up with the crappiest schedule. (Like having every class either before 8am and after 4pm... something that I did one quarter) After that, wait-list has become mandatory for me.
I shall seek your services if I get in the class though =) (that sounded dirty...)

Dude..speaking of English, I still have to take that required upper div class. Hmm...guess I'll cheat and take the one on how to write history papers(hehe..granted it's one of my majors and I've already written piles of papers). But yeah, summer sessions are convenient. I suddenly decided to change my minor to Poli Sci so I'm taking an upper div course right now. 3 more days!! And it is easier, the research paper wasn't as bad as the ones my friends had during the school year.
Surprisingly, I've NEVER had to waitlist a class. It's weird because I used to not get any of my classes during pass 1 but when pass 2 roles around, all of the classes i want/need have like spots open so I've never waitlisted. I usually start classes at 10am and finish at 4pm.
Haha....yeah, that did sound sorta dirty but whatever. We're adults =P I'll be expecting you! You can check the chinese site to see the tutors schedules(my name's Shirley) =)

Haha...I COULD do science if my life depended on it but obviously it's not so I avoid it =P. To this day, I don't even know how I passed chem in high school. I could do like bio and physiology if i was forced to choose but any of that chem and physics junk...i'd rather drop dead lol...

Of course, we're all adults here. That was just my failed attempt at humor. LUCKY YOU! Never had to wait-list... dang.. I guess that's just what happens with Liberal Arts people. Science classes are in-demand like crazy. If it I get in the class, I'll look for you Shirley. I'll be like.. hey! I'm that guy from soompi! or something to that effect. heh.

Haha..what can I say? If we were natural comedians, they why would we need a college education? We might as well try a hand in Hollywood =P Well, I guess it's cuz the math and sciences are competitive. And what you study in college is what you'll end up doing when u graduate. But in the liberal arts, we have more options. Like...I can be a teacher, journalist, lawyer, translator, government, etc. with my History and Chinese degrees..not as limited I guess. I mean, if you major in engineering, you're going to be an engineer.
Haha...sure...come "seek my services" =P Say that and I'll definitely know who you are =)

It's not necessarily true that you have more options with Liberal Arts. I guess it's a lot more scattered which kinda implies that those people don't know what they want to be yet. Science is a lot more focused but we have own variety of jobs as well, we're not all pre-med and pre-dental... we too can become teachers/professors and we also have the option to go into one of the many research fields out there.
Haha...sure...come "seek my services" =P Say that and I'll definitely know who you are =)
Haha, okay. That'll be our little code.

True..there's plenty of options in sciences too. I won't deny that BUT how many actually end up teaching? LOL...ESPECIALLY Asians...would mom and dad REALLY allow it? LOL...My parents are fine with me only because my brother's going into the sciences so they've at least saved ONE child...just thought I'd throw in a little "Asian" humor =P
Hehe...I hope you get into Chinese then =) I just wanna hear the code! Haha..
