As a 4th year Aggie, I'd like to welcome all of you to UC Davis =) Davis is definitely very different from the other UCs since afterall, we are a collegetown. You should grow to enjoy the small town life Davis has to offer and I'm from Los Angeles too!

Tercero South are the newest dorms on campus. I lived in Tercero my 1st year- before the new dorms were even built.

Transfering dorms because you didn't get your first choice is not going to be reason enough for Housing. What dorms you end up with is completely up to the computer. You were probably asked to place in order what dorms you wanted (Segundo, Cuarto and Tercero) when u applied for housing. Housing does its best to give you the AREA you want, but has no obligation or control over which specific building it places u IN that area.

One word to describe my last 3 years at Davis: priceless =)

Traffic? Hmm...well traffic stinks around campus the beginning of every quarter. Parking is a pain in the butt unless u have an 8am class. I don't park in any of the two structures which stops me from worrying about not finding a spot and being late for class. But in general, traffic in Davis is alright. You just have to be careful about Unitrans and the bicyclists.

dang i parked @ LOT25 the one near the arc to play basketball and I got a ticket for my sisters car


another note... im officially a Unitrans bus driver now and I'm pretty sure I will have to take shifts when school starts.. hope to see u all riding the bus..don't worry I'm really good =]


andd there are loads of bikers during passing period... if u live near cuarto U will know!
also watch out for loops. the rules is whoever is in the circle first have the right of way

but typically its not dangerous to bike unless ur bike is really crappy.. and ur brakes are worn off...

Parking is all good with a permit =D TAPS had better not raised the prices grr...

First years be careful when biking on campus...especially during the hour pass periods. Surprisingly, a good number of freshman end up crashing and falling into/onto other bikers because they weren't being cautious enough. The circles are especially tricky the first time around. Slow down when going around the circles and if possible, make eye contact with bikers.

is it generally safe to leave the bike on campus? i was thinking about busing to school and then biking around.

I believe junior standing is 90-134.99 units.

Generally campus is safe for bikes but be sure to get a good lock and don't leave ur bike on campus over breaks. A lot of people leave bus/drive/walk and bike when on campus.

Wow. Finally i'm here @ UCD. It's pretty friendly so far. hehe. But the cows smell. -- i guess i'll get used to it! I love my room though~ sunlight and sunset!! heheh. The only thing i'm nervous about are classes.
