LOL, but yeah that was a long time ago

I'm an incoming freshman, and I have a question about receiving the AP scores. I sent them when I took them this year, but it says online that UCD has not received them yet? It does say "Please note: AP and IB exam scores will not appear below in the “Official” section until July 15", so does that mean that it will say "not received" until the 15th, even if they did receive them? I'm a little worried. Help! sweatingbullets.gif

Yeah, I was worried about this too last year haha

they won't show up even if they have received them until july 15th. and even then it might take a few days, so if they still aren't up a few days after the 15th, you should try calling them. but until then, you shouldn't really worry ^^

The same thing happened to me last year. Just call the admissions office and ask them if they have received your scores yet. They might tell you that they're still processing them though since AP scores were sent out not that long ago. Just make sure that your scores are up before Fall Quarter starts. My scores didn't show up because I didn't write down my social security number when I took my AP tests so they couldn't match me to my scores. It's kinda stupid though because when you take the AP exams they tell you not to write down you SS number if you didn't give it one year, and I didn't know my SS number junior year so I didn't write it down when I took exams senior year. It's a pretty quick change and all you have to do is give the admissions people your UCD student ID number and if they have your scores, they push a couple keys or something and they should show up on MyAdmissions.

Super nice and clean, property is well maintained. Free cable, free school internet, free water. Repairs done promptly... rent is reasonable, parking is okay... it helps that it's right on campus. I love Primero, LOL

The chem placement test was ridiculously easy, at least for anyways. It's just basic general chem questions like states of matter, periodic trends, some simple math along with stuff like chemical reactions and lab skills. It's all multiple choice and all you need is a 21/44 and passing score on the math placement exam in order to take chem 2A. I did a quick 15 minute chem review at sparknotes before I took the placement exam and got a 38/44.

like the poster said before me...the chem placement exam was REALLY EASY.
i never took chemistry in high school...and somehow i passed to the 2 series...lol
that being said...i wish i would have taken workload before the 2 series...since i was NOT ready for chem 2 a AT ALL...

it's not really necessary, but it's just a looooot more convenient getting to classes and whatnot. i didn't have a bike the first two weeks of class and after awhile i was just like 'screw this. i need to get a bike.' hahah. it's just so much faster and you don't have to leave that much earlier just to get to your class on time. && it's useful when you want to bike into downtown davis or somewhere.

but then again, i've known some people who didn't bike the whole year and just walked and they seemed fine with it. it IS relaxing to just walk and not bike sometimes though, i just prefer not to do that all the time. XP

the APATH (Asian Pacific American Theme House) building is the M building in Tercero. it's one of the older dorm buildings so there's no elevator and just one bathroom per floor (girls on 1st and 3rd; guys on 2nd). i had four friends from high school live there last year. i wanted to be in the M building but i got placed in K, which is the engineering building right across from M. it's a pretty nice dorm over all. i really like the dragon murals that spiral up the staircase, but i guess they can be kind of scary at night. it's a pretty social dorm too because asian kids + no parents = craziness

for orientation, do we need to register our laptop beforehand so we can get internet? I'm a bit confused about that.

Also, it says for orientation, we have to take 2 of 4 placement tests possible. I already took the AWPE and passed it, and my 5 in AP Calculus AB should waive my math placement test, right? Do I still need to take placement tests then?

yes, just go to the LRC to register ur laptop or computer. It's just a simple IP address submission.

for the placement tests. All majors has to take the AWPE one. The math, chemistry, foreign languages and maybe some other ones that i am not aware of depends on your major.

for the placement tests, you and your orientation leader will decide which ones you should take, but they didn't offer the writing exam though. math and the choice of taking either the chem or a foreign language exam.

and i might be wrong but i thought in order to "waive" the math exam, it was either receiving a 4 or 5 on the AP Calc BC test.
