First of all... i choose mine because i didn't know what else to do.
I was one of those people in HS that was a total lost case when it came to deciding my future career path
.....and now i suffer the consequences blush.gif
It took me more than 1 yr into uni to realise that i don't have any interest in business whatsoever. I don't hate or love it, just neutral towards it.
Also, when i get crappy grades, it just makes me wana give up on the degree altogether.
But i figured wth might as well finish this degree since i'm half way through it.
But if i got to choose again... i would have choosen psychology/arts.
Sorry about my whole life story laugh.gif
......So have you guys ever felt this way?

I wish I did Asian Studies and Econ, or Asian Studies an Geography instead of Asian Studies and Poli Sci. The latter was way more philosophy based than i thought it would be, only a few of the classes actually dealt with current events.

speaking of language.. I kinda regret taking Korean. Everyone advised me against it, even my professors. But I did it.. and now I see why.. shoulda done Japanese or Mandarin or Russian (for my field, its more useful). Although I gotta admit, I met alot of great people through my Korean classes, and made alot of friends who I still KIT often.

Analyst or Intel, and to some extent, Journalism. If you ever saw Syriana, Matt Damon's character is a classic example of an energy Analyst.. you'd need to know the regional politics and economics and advise on the investment risks of a region

kinda but not really regret it. i graduated with a B.S. in Speech Comm (Broadcasting Option) in '02. I am now currently taking graduaet courses to earn my post baccalaureate Elementary Education certification. I wish I would have majored in El. Ed, so i wouldn't have to be back in school now...but oh well. broadcasting is fun and it allowed to study abroad for a full-year...so yeah.

It happens a lot. If you were only a year into the program though, that's kind of silly. You've still got plenty of time to change your major at that point. Freshmen are supposed to explore. You have to, to fulfill all those gen. ed. reqs.

i'm majoring in poli sci right now, and i wish we did more current events as well...
all the classes right now are heavily immersed in political philosophy... my prof loves the greek thinkers and the founding fathers of American gvt. my classes are heavily rooted in political theory more than analysis. i like it since history is something i enjoy, and it's always better to study something in context (gives you a bigger perspective), but seriously... as much as i love learning about theory, i would love doing analysis on foreign gvts and regimes...

i guess i'll have to wait until grad school (hoping to get an MA in international relations) for that...

i'm minoring in sociology now... i enjoy that a lot more... so i'm on the fence right now...
i've been convincing myself that a poli sci degree will prepare me for an IR curriculum far better than a sociology degree.. that's the only thing that's keeping me enrolled in all these Poli Sci courses.
hopefully, i'm making the right move...

how far are you in? I found Econ, Geography (human geography, not physical) and Asian Studies dealt with foreign relations, regimes, etc much much more often than Poli Sci. Quite honestly, very little of the philosophical stuff stuck with me.

Gosh, the tittle of this thread scares me. My major's liberal studies and I think our major focus on so many subjects that I wish I could just focus on one subject. Somehow learning many subjects just doesn't make me come into depth with one subject. I wish I had the knowledge for one subject on sad.gif mine is only good enough to teach elementary school, it's not enough for me to go into depth with what I really love. But I'm thinking of minoring in Asian American Studies because I really want to have this devotion for one subject only. Then again I have way too many subjects that I'm interested in, maybe that's why I am a liberal studies lol.

Oh and I didn't get the degree yet, but I hope I won't regret later..

im now an accounting major.... i seriously hate this major.
i really liked asian studies and acrchitecture, but i fear asian studies
wont necessarily get me anywhere, and i dont even have arch in my
skool. but architectures mad hard too... sleep.gif its hard to find jobs, especially in ny...

I do regret choosing my degree to a certain extent. I'm in engineering technology, which is vastly different than a traditional engineering degree. Most, if not all incoming freshmen in my school never knew of the difference between the two, and now that most of us know about it, we're kind of shell-shocked, sort of like, "If I knew of this beforehand, I wouldn't have come here in the first place!"

But I've learned how to cope with this degree. All of my professors assured me that we're still receiving a great education, and that we still have a great opportunity to move into a graduate-level degree, so I'm not too regretful of my decision. However, I really would have liked it if I were in a different school with a more traditional engineering degree.

i started out majoring in international business, but after a semester of econ i decided to switch to poli sci and so far i'm a lot happier with that. i'm also planning to minor in japanese. at this point, i just want something that'll ensure me a job.

Yes I do almost a year into my business management degree and I hate it. At first it seemed like something i'd like to do, but now I can't stand it.
